Since I was a kid, I've always dreamt to help other people. as a job, because I was feeling better doing it. I also enjoyed watching TV shows like Grey's Anatomy and Dr. House, and growing up I hoped to become like my childhood heroes.
During my highschool years, I fell in love with scientifics subjects such as biology, chemistry and anatomy, and this helped me deciding which path I had to take: the same that I dreamt about as a kid, a nurse.

This article tells about how and why nurses are so important in healtcare with six points:         
1. Advocate for and Garner Trust with Patients: that's because nurses are always present for their patiences taking care of them.
2. Improve Patient Outcomes: many studies prove that hospitals with more BSN nurses (Bachelor of Science in Nursing: a bachelor’s degree of science in nursing and is a four-year program for students who seek to become a nurse) 
on staff have lower patient mortality rates, a shorter average patient stay.
3. Prepare Qualified Nurses to Enter the Workforce: nursing tutors play a vital role in healthcare as mentors and advisors, guiding and motivating students on the path toward achieving their nursing career goals.
4. Educate Patients and Caregivers: in the hospital setting, nurses helping patients learn how to make healthy choices; outside the hospital, home nurses work to educate patients and their caregivers on how to prevent illness and lead healthy lifestyles within the context of their condition.
5. Use Technology to Innovate and Care for Patients: it's really important that nurses use innovative methods and technology to deliver the best care for patients and improve their profession.
6. Keep Communities Healthy: Nurses do much more than care for sick patients at the bedside, they also serve to promote wellness strategies before patients even need a hospital visit for exemple with passing on written educational materials or partnering with local organizations to hold events centered on health-related topics.

From there, it is off to medical school, where he manages to be at the top of his classes while spending most of his time at the hospital making the patients laugh, but the university wasn't agree with his attitude so he was expelled.       When the inability to diagnose the severity of illness has the most profoundly tragic results, Patch only has a short crisis before putting his red clown-nose back on and getting back to the serious business of making patients laugh.

Despite these struggles, nursing is full of exceptional people that do amazing life changing things.
In my opinion a good nurse must have a caring nature to support people who are ill, vulnerable or scared. 
Another one of the most important nursing qualities is the ability to empathize. Never think of, or treat, a patient as a burden.
For me another important skill is that a nurse must be able to think quickly and get decisions right, that's because it could mean life or death for the patients. A nurse can’t always wait for information and must be able to use knowledge, expertise, and experience to do the right thing.
A nurse has to be emotionally stable even because you must take the time to make your patients feel supported, and be there as a friend, as well as the person assigned to look after them.
And last but not least it's really important to be a good communicator that's because when a problem is shared it becomes easier to deal with it. After these three years of university I definitely want to start working and while I continue to study to specialize in cardiosurgery I consider a very fascinating and important medical and nursing field.
I don’t know whether to stay in a hospital or a clinic and whether to work with adults or children, I just want to help people with my profession and my passion and maybe one day, if I can control so many emotions and responsibilities, manage a department as a head nurse.

During my last internship I was able to learn a lot thanks to my tutor Paolo. One scene I’ll never forget is when he taught me how to draw arterial blood. It made me understand how theory is totally different from practice and that experience allows you to have your own method of doing things accurately. In fact, he taught me to use only one finger and not two to feel the pulse and to hold the needle comfortably so as not to make mistakes and get hurt. I was very agitated the first time, but having immediately trusted me, I was able to reassure myself and perform the withdrawal in the right way.
