First of all, society and culture plays a huge role in shaping the way people perceives standards of beauty. Currently, there are many medias that would instil different notions of beauty into the public. These media would show pictures or articles that would define the notions of beauty, thereby influencing the public and persuading them into thinking what the articles define would be the definitive standard of beauty. For example, online social medias such as Facebook and Instagram would occasionally show photos of models and fashion. These photos would show how a beautiful model that is agreed upon by the society is defined. This would affect many people in the society into collectively defining the standards of beauty. Researches also show that people are likely to be affected by their peers and thereby changing their notions of beauty. Hence we can see how society and culture would affect the notions of beauty.
