Pygmalion was a famous ivory sculptor who hated all women. He wanted a women who would never speak and never have sex. And of course he was never able to find this special person. To compensate, Pygmalion sculpted his perfect woman. She was silent, flawless, and gorgeous. Pygmalion spent all his time with this statue and eventually named it Galatea. He loved Galatea so much he prayed to Aphrodite to make her a real human. Of course all humans are able to talk and have sex so when Aphrodite had granted his prayer he was not satisfied with Galatea anymore.

Psyche was a beautiful woman who everyone was afraid to approach because of her beauty. As a solution, her father abandoned her on a cliff and Zephyr, the West Wind picked her up and took her to the palace of Cupid. Zephyr told Psyche that this man would be her new husband. The one thing Cupid was not able to tell Psyche was who he was. Cupid and Psyche kept seeing each other night after night and eventually Psyche became pregnant. She became curious about the identity of her husband now she was child-bearing. As a result, one night Psyche had grabbed an oil lamp and revealed the identity of her husband, Cupid. Taken back from the reveal, Psyche had dropped the oil lamp and burned Cupid. Cupid had then flown away never to be seen again and he had stated that Psyche and Cupid could never love each other as equals. But Zephyr told Psyche the opposite, they were in fact able but on the path to searching for Cupid, Venus had stopped Psyche and forced her to complete 3 impossible tasks. Psyche had passed all of these tasks. After she had completed these tasks she had stopped just outside of Venus's palace and opened the box but instead of Prosperina's beauty there was sleep. She fell into a deep sleep and Cupid came to her aid. He fed Psyche immortal nectar and they lived happily ever after interfering with people's love lives. They also had a child named pleasure.

Cupid had shot Apollo with an arrow that caused him to fall in love with the first person he saw. This person was a woman named Daphne. Unfortunately Cupid had also shot Daphne with a lead-tipped arrow that caused her to not want love. Apollo kept trying to make a move on Daphne but she refused. Hearing Daphne's cries for help as Apollo chased her, Peneus had turned her into a laurel tree and when Apollo had tried to catch her all he was left with was leaves of the tree.

In the story of Atalanta and Hippomene, Hippomene fell in love with Atalanta. She was raised by bears in the forest and vowed she would only marry a man who could beat her in a foot race. Hippomenes knowing he would never win against the incredibly fast Atalanta went to the Goddess of Love for help. She gave Hippomenes three golden apples to drop throughout the race to distract Atalanta. During the race, Hippomenes had done what he was told by Aphrodite. The trick worked; Atalanta had stopped running during the race to pick up all the apples and by the time she reached the finish line Hippomenes had already won the race.
