Hello Online Educators,
I am the creator and designer of the inaugural CATESOL Summer Institute: Online Course Design. I created this professional development to help ESL educators convert campus-based courses to fully online. I used my 10+ years of online education experience and training to lead this training.
Twenty-five CATESOL members participated in this professional development during summer 2020 to learn online instructional design for multi-week digital ESL lessons. To prepare for #backtoschool, participants joined two training events on July 23 and August 6, created draft online lessons, and revised the lessons with customized feedback. Finally, they implemented their new online lessons. The four of us will present our designs at the CATESOL Summer Institute Showcase at the Annual CATESOL Conference. I will kick-off our presentation on Sunday, October 11, 2020, 9:30-10:45am.
Here are my slides: Online ESL Course Design:
https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1XTE4r40NlWRW_3Rq_0dwedfAxElVeA_a2DK87SbwxDA/edit?usp=sharing
