The Sarcophagus at Chernobyl is interesting, despite our advances in technology the best solution people have been able to come up with regarding this reactor was to simply encase it in concrete. It's not a permanent solution and since parts of it have begun to deteriorate and even break another nuclear disaster seems inevitable. I'm hopeful that research is being done to find alternative, more efficient means of dealing with disasters such as chernobyl.

This article was very interesting to read. I can't believe that some people actually visited the Chernobyl disaster site. Why would you want to be exposed to radiation? I wouldn't go there even if I have a chance. Another interesting event was about the Goiânia accident. If the scrap metal harvesters knew the dangers of the radiation, they wouldn't steal the equipment and people didn't have to die for radiation exposures. I feel bad that people had to die because they had no knowledge about radiation and safety.

The natural nuclear reactor in Africa I thought was real interesting. All of the conditions are perfect for the uranium to decay naturally. Africa is the only country with one!

My first day at clinical seemed crazy compared to my second day. I saw three cardiac scans, a whole body bone scan, two lung scans, a gallbladder scan and MUGA scan (another type of heart study). Tuesday the only scan I was there for was another MUGA scan.

In 1970 , a measuring device made of cesium- 137 was lost . Cesium has half life of 30 years. In 1980 an apartment was built that contained the cesium-137 . Three people died living in that apartment and later new family occupied the apartment and a child died in that family. The child's father had the apartment investigated and discoverved high levels of radiation.

Only if the workers had put more effort to look for the radioactive vial.
