I am trying to include engaging opening and closing activities during Zoom meeting to build community and engagement. I have used Zoom Sketch, Zoom breakout rooms, Closing Prompts, Zoom Bingo, and Padlet as a form of collaboration.

The PEDAL Advocates are the best and make a big difference in our PEDAL programming and continuous improvement. THANK YOU!

One-on-one meetings with PEDAL Advocates have been helpful to increase identification.

Continue parent and student forums beyond social isolation.

Ideas for next year is to keep my focus on PEDAL programming and instruction verse identification.

I have used Flip Grid and Zoom to interact with my students. I have enjoyed my classes using Zoom because I can share my screen to help my students. I have even been able to progress monitor my students using breakout rooms, which has been amazing.

Having meetings/ check-in with PEDAL students weekly was a great way to keep track of their learning and provide individual supports.
For next school year, I want to see how I can make goal setting more meaningful and engaging for my PEDAL students.

Remote learning is still a work in progress for me! I'm learning new ways to engage with students and families from my colleagues everyday. I've enjoyed being apart of daily classroom meetings on zoom. On zoom I can support the many diverse learners with classroom assignments.

As a first year PEDAL Advocate, I had a lot to learn. Jenn's individual support was momentous! For next year, I have a clear picture of what the process looks like from start to finish. My admin and I talked about incorporating PEDAL referrals into our regular data meetings!

This was my first year as a PEDAL advocate and I loved seeing the process. Jen's energy is so amazing and contagious! I really enjoyed getting to know the students at the beginning of the year and the collaboration with parents. Next year, I want to send out google forms for students' teachers bimonthly as a form of checking in rather than sending emails.

For the first time in my career students have actually started responding and regularly checking their emails! I started using zoom, taught students how to screen share, encouraged collaboration between students with google hangouts, and taught students communication tips during virtual learning. Zoom is a different form of communication, so this has been a great time to teach students appropriate conduct on zoom!

I have enjoyed using Nearpod with students. It allows me to create content which my students can see, and then they can create content which only I can see, and this happens in real time.

Being that this was my first year as the PEDAL advocate, I felt I rocked it with identifying new students. I LOVE looking at data, so that was fun. However, I felt that I didn't have the structure/built in time or knowledge to meet with the identified kiddos to make their goals super personal and purposeful. With that said, my idea for next year is to request all the middle shcool the GT kids be put into my L9 Lit class so I can meet with them regularly!

I am super grateful to be part of a district who truly cares about their kids and community. I am SO proud of us for our meal numbers published in the chalk beat article sent out. Like WHAT?! 125%!!!! Never been more proud.

At the end of April, I usually have to choose and get to know my WEB leaders for next year. This process was far different form that past years. I had an interest survey go out to students and once I chose leaders, I made a flip grid to get to know them and why they wanted to be in WEB. I will utilize flip grid all the time next year, regardless of where I am teaching from.

We had a huge jump in documentation of ALPs by our AE teachers. Big win!
Michelle is a dynamo and even continued our monthly student meetings via Zoom. Our next goal is tackling ID / referrals in a more efficient and effective manner.

This was a whirlwind of a school year! First, my husband and I took custody of our four-year-old granddaughter right before school started. Next, I ended up "starting" school three times due to a loss of a teacher and didn't finish the "first six weeks" of school until November 1. Add to that the fact that it was in THE ONE grade that I hadn't ever taught in my 22 years of teaching. Then, when my class and I were in a groove, we switched to remote learning. During all of that, I started this new position as PEDAL advocate. No matter what, I am hoping that next year is smoother. :)

There were a lot of things that went well this school year. I appreciate the support from Jen and her insight into HLHS students and their needs. I enjoyed the conversations with students around ALP goals and making these relevant for them. Because of these conversations, two students graduate that may have not otherwise.
