This strategy is used when students become emotional or unable control themselves given the task at hand. To ensure that the rest of the room does not get distracted the teacher simply has the student leave the room, or go to a designated spot in the room. What makes this usable for high school is that students must fill out and sign an action plan before coming back to the classroom.

This strategy allows for students to work together and hold each other accountable for their behavior. The class does not get rewarded until all groups have met a goal. To make teams fair and unbiased, use an online Team Generator (especially for jr. high students). Basically, the class has a goal, and each team is responsible for reaching that goal.

This strategy is simply keeping good communication between the teacher and parents/guardians. Any type of communication whether it be by phone, email, ClassDojo, or social media is proven to boost positive behavior in students because their support system has now grown.
