To diminish my impact I should start being more aware of the origin of my food consumption, I should probably head more to the farmers market and whenever I buy processed foods, try for them to be local, vegan or at least environmentally friendly.
In terms of food waste I believe I'm personally doing enough (I compost and always try to rather have to buy/make more food than to throw it away), I should check more for the waste generated by the companies I buy from.

I also have to be more aware of my services' consumption, the one I believe I can improve the most in, is water. Simple actions such as shower shorter, wash bigger loads of clothes per wash, and also bigger actions: promoting building with rain water collection, grey water re-usage, etc.

My footprint is very important, I consume more resources for one year that the planet is able to produce whereas some people in other countries consume less. Indeed, I consume and waste resources that are common goods and which will be scarce in the future because of society like the one I belong to. I am responsible of the earth destruction, as all other people which belong to developed countries or societies.

- Mobility: I don’t think that I can improve on mobility because I don’t have car and I walk a lot, I do take plane but there aren’t other less polluting ways to travel so I won’t stop taking plane.

- Food: I can reduce my ecological footprint by stopping eating meat because the activity of breeding cattle is responsible of a lot of carbon emissions.

- Goods: I can also buy less things that I don’t need (almost clothes) or extend the life expectancy of my goods (for example only use one smartphone for 10 years).

- Services: I can adopt a simpler way of life and stop doing a lot of activities. Moreover, I can use services with a carbon footprint less important and use them less (for example stop using micro-wave). I can also use less my computer and sending less messages and e-mail because it has a significant weight on my carbon footprint.

- Shelter: I could live in a place with better insulation but I’m student so I can’t choose or afford that actually. I don’t think I can reduce so much my shelter carbon footprint because I already live in a flat with several people and I don’t use heating system that much.

2. My critical categories of consumption are food and shelter. This make sense because I consume animal protein almost every day. Also, my home does not count with sustainable energy, which explains the critical point on shelter.

2. To reduce my footprint with respect to food, I should reduce my meat consumption, maybe by having 3-4 vegetarian days a week. Also, become more aware of the products I buy and start buying more local products.

With respect to shelter, I should look for better alternatives of energy use. For example, replace light-bulbs with more efficient ones and find ways to start creating solar energy in my building.

In conclusion, I was very surprised with my carbon footprint and consider I should take seriously the actions I can take from now on. However, I think that it was difficult to measure some aspects of my footprint because there were things that I did not know. This is also a wake-up-call to be more aware of my consumption behaviour, because I should know those things.

Food: The fact that I consume meat every day clearly makes my food consumption the main source of my footprint.
Services: The services I usually use also create a great amount of carbon footprint as a im not efficient in my consumption.

3. I think there is an opportunity in the food production of making the resources use more efficient through circular economy, using the waste in the production in other markets and our organic trash in other sectors of the economy.

My critical points in my footprint data are food and mobility. the reason for this may be due to the fact that almost every day I consume some type of animal meat and I have to take the bus nearly everyday. To reduce my carbon footprint, I should start with the fact of how to transport myself. the journey from my house to the university by bicycle is 20 minutes, while by bus it is 40 minutes. Regarding food, starting new eating habits does not kill anyone, therefore I could reduce my consumption of animal meat and begin to eat more organic products and those from the national market. Also, I have to be aware of what kind of companies I buy my products from and encourage my family and friends to come by new habits.

Thanks to this, I´m aware of all the damage I do to the planet through my daily habits, therefore I have to implement nature-friendly alternatives.

Also be responsible for the maintenance of my flat, for the insulation for example, here it is not necessary as there is no heating system.

Mobility: Concerning my mobility, I use way more private transports like Uber to move from a place to another in Bogotà which I think I can't reduce when it comes to long distance travel for security. I am used to take public transports in Europe such as the subway and the bike, when the city I live in is adapted to move mainly by bike (= meaning the cars traffic is reduced in certain areas of the city and almost inexistent in the city center).

I overall think that my carbon footprint is way bigger in Colombia than in France.

With this, it shows that my current ways of consumption would use 2.9 Earths.
3. I think that for shelter some alternatives would be to invest in services and goods that would make my home much greener, it would be easier and cheaper to do this than to invest in a new and much more sustainable house or apartment, even though that change would be much better on the long-run.
For goods and food I think that the way of making these points much more sustainable is to be conscious in my consumption, like eating less meat, and also in considering what has more priority when buying goods or food. Not all the processes by which things are made are completely sustainable and I would have to consider which of these I could buy less or even live without.

As I am an exchange student, I want to see as many places as possible in very little time. Therefore, I only can use the aeroplane to visit a city over the weekend. The alternative use of a bus would not be durable as it would consume too much time. Secondly, is the house where I am currently staying is not very well isolated. However, it does not exist ley in y responsibility as I am only staying there for less than six months.

2. An alternative idea would be to expand the routes of buses. A better and faster connection between the cities could help reduce the excessive demand for four aeroplane usage and the demand for Colombians.
The house could be used material that isolates the place from inside and outside better to reduce CO2 emissions. Furthermore, better isolation for electrics lien is needed to reduce the carbon footprint. However, I don't influence that as my landlord decides what he will do with the house and to what extend it is profitable.

I have been able to realize that my mode of consumption is really high. Indeed, this way of life that I have is related to the city and the conditions in which I live. The two most critical points are mobility and food. On the one hand, given the security and lack of alternatives, I travel by car most of the time. The cars are not electric and I don't always share the car. On the other hand, the food I eat, in many cases, is imported, or they are foods that generate a lot of waste and energy consumed in their production, for example meat. For this reason I should on the one hand use the bicycle as a sustainable mode of transport and share my car more. On the other hand, you should consume more local products and less meat. Linked to this, I must improve my knowledge in understanding the origin of the products I consume and the energy consumed until they reach me.
