How to created E2020 classes at the building

The other day I spoke with a guy from Bangor HS named Randy Ward about how they coded their Virtual students in Synergy to make sure they are in compliance with the auditor.  He said they create virtual classes for each specific course and name it E2020-Physics, E2020-Algebra II, etc. and assign them to semesters.  You can have as many different virtual classes as you need assigned to the same teacher and within the same period without causing any issues.  The teacher just needs to edit their seating chart and select all of the classes to populate their chart with all students within that period so they can take attendance.  If a student completes a course before the semester ends the teacher records the grade in Grade Book.  You would then assign the student to the next virtual class (within the same period)--this will give you an error telling you there's a duplicate record but you just ignore that.  Then, when the semester ends and the transcripts are populated, the virtual courses and grades transfer into the transcripts.  He said their alternative high school has the same course list as the high school except there is an "X" in the front of each one to differentiate it from a HS course.According to Randy, this takes a little time to set up but then you will have it forever and can build on it as other Virtual courses are created.  Not only will it keep us in compliance but it will also save everyone a ton of time in the end because you won't be re-typing everything from the back end.Randy Ward's phone number is 269-427-6800, ext. 1006 or ext. 1038.  He is willing to help in any way he can.
