-Euphrates River

This rivers has an impact on Mesopotamia because it provides soil and nutrients which are perfect for growing crops. It also provides plenty of water for the people who lived in Mesopotamia. Without this river, (or all rivers in general), Mesopotamia would not have many crops or drinking sources at all, which would lower the population.

-Zagros Mountains

The Zagros Mountains are very helpful to Mesopotamia. The mountains allow the rivers to bring down the fertile soil. The fertile soil then helps the farmers in Mesopotamia grow crops. Without these mountains, it would be a more difficult process to bring down the soil for Mesopotamia, and Mesopotamia wouldn't have as much good soil for their crops.

In our world today, laws/government are very important. Laws and government keep everything orderly, as well as keeping their people safe. Laws/government have existed for a while now, so we can travel back in time all the way back to the times of Mesopotamia. Hammurabi, the King of Babylon, created some very important laws. Although some were fair, many of his laws were completely cruel. One of these laws were "If a son strikes his father, the son’s hand will be cut off." This is a perfect example of how his laws very unfair. Anyway, laws like these tell me that Mesopotamia was a very orderly and harsh place. Hammurabi's laws were very important to Mesopotamia because they wanted everything to be orderly and perfect, and it also made things fair for the upperclassmen. Believe it or not, these laws are also important today because it tells us what laws we should have and what laws we should not have, and how we can use them.

In Mesopotamia, there were 3 social class divisions: Upper Class, Middle Class, and Lower Class. The Upper Class had the roles of king and priest, the middle class were scribes, merchants, artisans, and commoners. and the lower class were slaves. The purpose of class divisions were to keep everything in order. For example, it would be easier to classify those who had certain jobs. It also encouraged people to do more jobs to have more luxury, so things could get done easier.

There were many beautiful art forms in Mesopotamia. These pieces of art were very important to their people. Some of these pieces of art from Mesopotamia are still kept today. One piece of art is the Lyre. The purpose of the lyre is to make music, like a harp. The lyre’s base appears to be a goat, with a gold head. There are strings tied onto the top bar, which connect down to the top of the goat. There are two long pieces of wood reaching up from the back and behind the head, with a bar at the top of each piece connecting the two. Another piece of art from Mesopotamia is Lama Deity. Lama deities human head.were spirits associated with Shamash the sun god. The body of the sculpture is a bull, and the head is that of a human head with a beard and a horned crown. The purpose of this is to represent the Mesopotamian lama deities.

Writing in Mesopotamia as a pretty big deal. Its different from today's writing, (of course) and it is always interesting to learn about it. Back in Mesopotamia, they used a type of writing called Cuneiform. This form of writing involved a lot of wait looks like arrows connected to make letters.
