Positive Psychology
1. "What is Positive Psychology, and What is it not?" showed that positive psychology can be used in real life and the way we can use it in real life is to teach people how to enjoy life more and deeper. We can use it not only to help ourselves but help others. Schools can teach people certain aspects of positive psychology research that has been proven such as mental health and its importance and the importance of one's self.
2. Positive Psychology is beneficial because it pairs with other psychologies especially those highlighting the negatives and mental illnesses of the world, to help better under the human mind, emotions, cognition, social aspects, and more. It is a science that can teach all and show more about different sides of the human mind and interactions.
Optimism and Pessimism
1. Throughout my life so far I have switched between being optimistic and pessimistic. For awhile when I was younger I was much more pessimistic, and nowadays I switch more between being optimistic and being realistic. Mainly because when I was younger I wasn't mature enough to look at all of the good things I had even when times were rough and I still sometimes struggle to, but I am much better at it.
2. I think that childhood plays a large role on a person's outlook on the future however I don't think that it is the only deciding factor of a person's future and future look at life. I think that if someone is abandoned, abused, neglected, or others emotionally or physically, I think that their trust in people and life may alter in a negative way, which may impact how they look at other people or their life general. However I think that they could turn it around as they grew up and learned from the experiences.
3. As I have grown older and as I continue to grow I hope that I can look at the positives and the things I should be grateful for as I go through hard times. My mom always told me to make a list of all the good things that I still have whenever I was upset or angry about life.
Self Conscious
1. I believe that he four portraits of self-conscious were mainly accurate. I do feel that my First-Person Realistic isn't as glamourous as they think because they think that when people describe themselves, they make their positives more important than their negatives, however, in many cases I think people think more negatives about themselves than positives. However I agree that what people think of us and the expectations weigh heavily on who we want to be and it impacts our Ideal Self as well.
Locus Control and Attribution
1. I think that my locus of control is more myself then others or fate. I think that a lot of what I do is because I know that I am in charge of my fate and future. Although other aspects impact who I am and who I will be I think that I will ultimately make the largest decisions impacting who I am.
2.

Positive psychology is beneficial to our lives and personalities because positive people have greater flow in their lives.
1. I am more pessimistic but I think I have a pretty good balance with optimism. I usually expect to do bad on tests but outside of school I always try to think the best.
2. I agree that this is something determined during childhood. I don't really know.
3. I think I have a pretty good balance between the two right now but I can always try to be more optimistic.
1. I think the article is relatable to me because I am critical of myself. I am a nervous person sometimes for no reason.

Positive Psychology:
1.) How I can use positive psychology in my life, is to get into a positive state of mind, since happiness is truly a state of mind, and not just a release of dopamine. 2.) Positive psychology is beneficial because it is really good for the body, mainly the immune system, but it is also great for your life, when choosing certain pathways in our life. Positive Psychology is easier not only for life, but also for our mental health.
Optimistic and Pessimistic:
1.) I have experienced both optimistic and pessimistic moments. In my childhood I was more optimistic than I am now. I am mainly a pessimistic now, but I sometimes, not always, will experience a bubble of optimistic moments.
2.) I do agree that our childhood indicates if how we see things, but I also believe life experiences, beyond childhood, can shape how we view life. Big life changes can curve how we see life, in a positive or negative way.
3.) Keeping the two aspects in my life would be better due to rejection, but still striving through it. I believe it is ok to have pessimistic moments, but having optimistic moments too.
Self-Consciousness:
1.) From the article, I believe this is accurate for my life. I tend to be more anxious and nervous about myself and how I am viewed(which is basically what the article is about). It is defiantly shocking reading about it because it shows my insecurities and how hard I am on myself. Th first two is what we did in class, I am funny..., and the second being, I wanna be more open... But three and four is other people and why we want to feel wanted and how other want us to make them feel wanted. It is very eye opening because I am experiencing things that the article talks about and it makes it really helpful and useful in my life.
Locus Control and Attribution:
1.) I believe I am more external control orientation because I am more of how events happen and that's how I react. I am more judgmental of a topic than more of thinking about it first.
2.) I am Internal.
3.) I am judgmental of things, so it does make sense.

We can try to use gratitude exercises and use a gratitude journal.
2. Positive psychology is beneficial because those who are more positive live a longer life and are more healthier in general yeet.
3. I'm more pessimistic in my grades but for everything else I am optimistic for.
4. I do think think this can be determined from childhood. Ever since I was a child, my parents have wanted me to do well in school so I really criticize my grades and want to always perform my best but for my optimism, I am just naturally happy I guess.
5. I am going to keep the balance of what I already have the same because I don't want to end up being too careless about my grades but I also want to be optimistic about everything else.
6. I think it applies to me a lot because I fit all the criteria. I often wonder who I am, who I WANT to be, who OTHERS want me to be, and the other expectations. Even if being a trash man is really easy, people don't expect me to be that so I can't be that.
7. I think that I have control of my fate, more internal locus of control. Hard work reveals good results
8. I was intern

1. I can use positive psychology in my life by pursuing my goals, if that is what makes me happy, and by helping others. In this way, I will lead a life that is meaningful and can positively impact those around me.
2. Positive psychology is beneficial to our lives as it encourages individuals to do things that make them happy. It's beneficial to our personalities as, when we utilise positive psychology in our lives, we are each becoming a better person and developing our own characteristics into ones that we are proud of.

1. I'm a generally pessimistic person but there are still moments in my life where I see the optimistic sides of things.
2. Our childhood is one of the most important time periods for growth. From small decisions to the way people around us act, we learn a lot through sensing the world around us. I think that being optimistic or pessimistic is something that can be impacted by childhood experiences but as always, the environments that we are in as we progress throughout life will have an even bigger impact.
3. We can create balance between the two by not having an exceeding amount of expectations. If we do not expect, we cannot decide if the outcome is going to be good or bad.

Although each of these self-portraits will be different, they will also be similar in some way. Often times, our perceived self is similar to our ideal self. If we have an image of what we want to be, we can become that by changing our ways, especially if it's changing a negative thing about ourselves. Additionally, the way that others perceive us can make us change, especially if it's from people who have a large impact on our lives.

1. Internal. I think that what I do, what I achieve, and what goes on in my life ultimately is based on myself and the decisions that I make.
2. The quiz said that I had an internal locus of control.
3. I do agree with the description that was provided. It described me very accurately.

1) I can use positive psychology in my life in many ways. Instead of just living to live, a person can live like they have a meaning and purpose.
2) It is so beneficial to our lives because we can live feeling as if we are living for a reason. It can also make us happier in our life.

1) I would say that I live a optimistic life because I often try to see the positives instead of the negatives. There are many positives to a decision.
2) I think that it could be determined by your childhood. The way that parents raise you will have an impact. If you parents focus more on the positives or negatives, it is most likely that the children will follow the same thinking.
3) A person needs to see both the positives and negatives that can come out of a situation. It is important that a person sees this because it means that they are thinking deeply through the problem/situation.

The portraits that were presented have an impact on my life. Since college is right around the corner, I often ask myself "What will I become in the future" or what do I want to do in the future. Whenever someone asks these questions to themselves, it makes them ponder about their life and their decisions in the past.

1) Before I took the test, I would consider my locus of control to be a mix of both internal and external. I believe that I do have power to change the outcome but there are some factors that a person just can't control.
2) It determined that I believe that my success comes from intelligence, skills, and personality. While there is only a slim chance of luck that does help with success. I received a 77/100 for the success orientation.
3) I agree with this result because there are times where I believe that certain people got lucky, but most times, it comes from that person's skills and intelligence.

1.) I can positive psychology throughout life by giving life meaning. To have a purpose and by helping others around you, one can use positive psychology.
2.) The number one benefit from using positive psychology is happiness. To pursue a happy life, one may try new things and then life may seem to be more interesting.
-------------------------------------------------------
1.) I would like to believe that I am optimistic, but I am totally a pessimist because I tend to be hard on myself most of the time.
2.) Our childhood is an important part of our development and it would make sense that our personality of being a pessimist or optimist is influenced during this time. From my childhood the way I was brought up in my environment has affected how I see the world.
3.) To have a balance between the two is to acknowledge that things that could be a lot worse, but not disregard the enviable.
-------------------------------------------------------
After reading this lengthy open-ended test about self-portraits, i believe that these tests could be accurate for some people and if they actually applied them to their lives. I think I could make this accurate to my life, but it would take patience to think this type of way.
-------------------------------------------------------
Before: My locus of control would have to be internal. I believe that one can control their own fate.

Also just always planning events to look forward to.
2. Positive Psychology is so important in out lives because it keeps someone positive. We feel happier when we are in a more positive place and using positive psychology will keep you in a good state of mind.
-
1. I believe that I live a very optimistic life because I am always open and positive.
2. I think that this is something that can be developed and does not need to be determined in your childhood years. You could develop completely different personalities based on experiences which would change that.
3. Balancing the two would be easy because they are both still apart of you personality and would show when you experience certain situations.
-
I believe that this article was somewhat accurate, and I also believe that a lot of people my age could agree because at our teenage years most are trying to figure out who we want to be and what we want to do with the rest our lives. Out of the different 4 topics, I would say the one I'm most concerned with is what do I want to become. I'm still in the midst of figuring all of this out and its stressful on me.
-
1. I believe that I have a more internal locus of control because I am the complete opposite of blaming the outside world for what happen in my life.
2. Test indicates that I am have an internal locus of control
3. I agree with this because like I said I agree with the characteristics of the internal locust control. I partially disagree because at times I may show external locust control depending on the mood

I can use positive psychology in my life by participating in things that I like to do and enjoy, this will make me happier and more fulfilled with life.

2. It is beneficial because we need to feel like we belong in this world. If we are not happy and go through the same boring routine everyday, is that actually living? We must try and have a sense of belonging and happiness to avoid becoming a mindless robot that has little emotion for the life they live.
-------------------------------------------------------

1. I don't believe this can be answered on sided. I believe I can be both either optimistic or pessimistic. It depends on the situation, how I am feeling that day, and others opinions on the situation. Positive psychology can impact if you are a optimist or pessimist.

2. I have had some life changing events occur in my life that have altered my view on the world.

Slide 1) I can use positive psychology in my life to become happier and more fulfilled. Positive psychology is beneficial because it focuses on the awareness of our personal capacity to grow in happiness and achieving a balance between optimistic and pessimistic thoughts and ideals.
____________________________________
Slide 2) I believe that I live a optimistic life, because I am always trying to focus on the good, and I am resilient. If I face hardship, I do not let it get me down to much. I think that whether our personalities are optimistic or pessimistic originates during childhood experiences, because in childhood we learn to become resilient and hopeful. I do not believe that those traits come to surface later in life. I will create balance between optimism and pessimism by making sure that I make time for myself, and really make an effort to do check ins regarding my spirit.
____________________________________
Slide 3) This article is accurate in describing finding a balance between the two types of emotion. I believe that the article is important because it claims that we can achieve balance between the two by recognizing both types of emotion. We need both to succeed.
____________________________________
Slide 4) I believe that my locus of control is very internalized because I have always been determined to succeed, even when my parents would have been happy with average results. I knew that my hard work would result in success, so I just went after what I sought for. After I took the test, my score was 84/100. The report told me that "You have an internal attribution style when it comes to success. You tend to interpret your success as a result of your skills, intelligence, nice personality, etc., rarely attributing it to external forces. As a result, you are able to accept the credit you deserve. Your self-esteem, motivation, and general well-being certainly benefit from this orientation." I completely agree with my results from my locus of control test. I am really determined and stubborn, so these results are accurate, and I attribute a lot of the success that I have in my life to my internal drive.

I can use positive psychology in my life by fulfilling all the bad with healing pathology in order to get rid of the negative things that bring me down. This way I can live my best life.
I would say that I live a more optimistic life than a pessimistic life. Although I do consider myself a realist, I do expect good things to come out of life and I think good things will come if it is earned. I do believe the weight of life is hard but I look forward to the future and what it holds. I believe childhood experiences have a strong influence on being optimistic vs pessimistic but I also believe that even if someone experiencing heartache and unfortunate hardships at a young age that they can still grow up to become optimistic and open minded. In my life I am going to be able to use optimism to look forward to the future but I am also going to inquire my pessimistic side in order to come to an actualization of certain situations and better understand when I need to be a realist about certain things.
I think this article is an amazing interpretation of how I see myself and I feel a lot of people see themselves. It had very detailed portraits of how people perceive themselves, want to be perceived, and how that influences our self conscious. It was a very good article and I thought it was accurate for many.

Positive psychology is beneficial because it allows us to grow as people and get past our obstacles.

1. I live a more optimistic life because I look forward to things everyday.
2. I agree that it is most likely developed during childhood, but I also do feel that throughout one's life, certain experiences can change their views.
3. I will balance the two when making important decisions taking the positive and negative consequences into account.

These portraits exemplify that although everybody may not be the exact way as their ideal self, there could be some similarities between the two. This makes me think that I don't have some characteristics as my ideal self, but there are still some things that could be added or changed to further reach my ideal self.

1. I would consider out locus of control to be internal because his has more to do with our emotions such as motivations and expectations.
2. It gave me a score of 72
3. I agree with most of how this is scored because I depend on my intelligence and external factors more than luck.

1 I can use positive psychology to be happier and more fulfilled.
2 Positive psychology is beneficial because it has potential to improve quality of life for an individual.
1 i live pessimistic life because I usually doubt my ability to do things.
2 I think this aspect of personality is influenced during childhood. If the parent is more positive or negative towards various outcomes will likely impact your view on life.
3 A balance between the two can happen by acknowledging the things you do unsuccessfully and successfully.
1 I think the four portraits are legitimate. I find the first three to be most accurate then the fourth one seems to be kind of vague. It made me feel people care a lot about what others think and seek to reach a compromise between their own goals and what others expect them to achieve.

1.) The majority of the time I life an optimistic life because that is the way I was raised to live- to always look for the brighter side to just about every situation. I have become accustomed to that and I aim to do that whenever something goes wrong.
2.) I do agree that a big part of being optimistic or pessimistic is based on the parenting and environment the child is brought up on. Although the influence of other people throughout one's life can also effect how optimistic or pessimistic the individual remains to be. In my childhood, I was always taught to "look on the bright side" and that has greatly impacted how I approach my problems and my attitude towards them.
3.) I can create a balance in my life between the two by keeping my expectations for things as neutral as possible, that way, no matter what happens, I will not be overly surprised or disappointed.

I am someone who has confidence but I am still very self-conscious in a lot of what I do or my perspectives. After reading this article, it makes me feel more comfortable that almost everyone thinks the same way I do about myself as they do about themselves, and there are ways to overcome that anxiousness and nervousness. It is settling to know that it is a normal thing to think. I will use the four portraits to help keep myself more comfortable when perceiving myself or thinking about how others see and think of me.
