On the International Children's Book Day, although not a children's books writer, I cannot help but sharing a quote by one of my favourite authors, Stephen King, since reading is key to learning and through this skill, and the many other resources and tools used, this course helped me develop further my command of the English language. Before joining this course, I tried to find many excuses, I don't have the time, I won't be able to keep up, it is an enormous challenge... I was never an ace at English when I was in Secondary School and becoming an English teacher wasn't my childhood dream. In fact, up to that moment when I sat my A levels, I have always pictured myself as a journalist, and to be more specific a radio broadcaster. But my marks weren't high enough to get in, so I decided to do something else for a year while I studied harder to retake the exams. And guess what? I fell so much in love with the language and its history that I never left!

To be honest, the first two years I was still thinking about trying to get into Journalism after I had finished my English Studies, but then on my 5th year I did an internship that was life-changing, since it made me realize how much I loved english language and teaching, and that I had a real chance at being successful at it! And just like that, it dawned on me: this was my fate and my destiny, I was meant to convey this sense of genuine passion for a language to others, and that's what I have been trying to do ever since.

And you might be wondering why I am telling you all this, righ? Well, this commitment to overcome myself and become the best I can be as a teacher is what drove me to take up this course in the first place, both to understand level C2 better and to push my limits a bit. So, I want to thank both our tutors for their hard work, guidance and implication on my progress, as well as their uplifting words of encouragement that prevented me from giving up.

This course was great but too short so allow me to make a suggestion or even better a request. I am interested in enhancing my English, not through certifications. I would love to have the chance to keep learning and blending and online learning seems right now the best option. So please, create more English courses, and not only focus on getting the skills required for MCERL. What about a specific area in English culture? Literature, Cinema, Arts, History….whatever. Learning a language means being in touch with many aspects of the country where that language is the mother tongue and I would be delighted to study them too.

For me, learning Languages means understand the different ways of thinking and interpret the world, and it helps me to be more flexible and empathic with the rest of the inhabitants of this planet.

It doesn't matter how good or fluent you are, language is a live entity and you have to keep using and updating it.

Thanks for everything and for helping me do just that. I hadn't written anything for a while and I really enjoyed the written assignments. I shall also practise trying not to say 'hhhmmm' so many times while talking, :); which seems impossible really....
