I was asked to prepare a presentation about me. I included my family, the things I like, some places I have been in the past and my hobbies.

I feel like my presentation was presented well but not to my best but overall the presentation clearly shows my likes and dislikes and a lot of information about me.

My weaknesses would be that I could've added more detailed information and present it better.

Communication 2

Throughout college I communicate with others, meeting new people and getting to know the class. This led me to feel nervous on the first day as I didn't know many people, but after communicating with others I was fine. To improve this I would put myself out there more.

When I enrolled at college I also had to communicate with the teachers and people around me. This encouraged me to speak about what I want to do in the future and where I want to be. To improve this I would be more confident.

I also will eventually have a job interview which will improve my communication skills and build up my confidence.

Induction day

During induction day, we were put into teams and had challenges to complete. This improved our communication and gave us the opportunity to get to know new people. I think the challenges went well but I could improve the communication and teamwork.

Presentations

Another example of teamwork is the presentation I did with Lacie and Lucy. This encouraged us to communicate and give feedback to get the presentation complete. This means we gave ideas to each other which we then put together to form our work. I think the communication went well but I could improve the presentation work.

We also use teamwork and communication throughout the course as we communicate and share ideas in each class. This gives us the chance to get to know everyone as we are often put into teams for our CSI class. We are usually given a photo and we then have to work together to find out whats in the photo. This is a good way to communicate. In this task my communication went well but I could improve my knowledge on the photos.

Throughout this activity, I used teamwork and communication as we got into teams and worked together to complete the challenges. This was a good activity to include teamwork as we all communicated with each other encouraging us to be competitve.

Getting bus to and from college instead of car.

Travelling by public transport instead of car is better for the environment, as it reduces pollution and clearer skies. Also you don't have to worry about finding a parking space and is cheaper than paying for fuel.

The use of water bottles in college.

Having a reusable water bottle in college helps the environment as it reduces the amount of plastic and waste. A positive of this is that it minimizes environmental pollution by taking less oil to produce. This also reduces carbon footprint and plastic burden on landfills, protecting marine life.

The use of reusable bags for shopping.

With one reusable bag, you could avoid several disposable bags every year and reduce your carbon footprint. If you reuse shopping bags, you don't have to worry about recycling plastic bags. As these plastic bags are getting caught in machinery, they could slow down the recycling process in some facilities.

Communication 3

In custodial care we did a search practical, where we were shown how searches were done in which prisons. This was a good communication task as we had to communicate on how the searches were done. This showed us which prisons had which procedures and how communication is used.

Leadership

I took part in a trip to Wales and we were set a challenge in which half of the people were blindfolded and the other half leading. As a leader I took charge, and was in control.

Part time job

My part time job is working in a pet shop. My role in this job is to serve customers, ensure the shelves are stocked and bag up different types of pet food. In this job I provide good customer service and make sure the customers get the help they need when shopping. I provide advice for the pet food when customers are unsure and serve on the till. Although I have good time management, I feel like I could improve when working on the till.

Second part time job

In this job I worked at a car dealership, offering help and ensuring the cars on display were clean, I would offer drinks to customers and help keep a positive work environment. My positives for working here would be my time management and keeping a positive environment for customers, however a negative I should work on is getting more involved with my work colleagues.

I have visited Mexico, and have experienced their culture involving the food and music. This was a fun experience and was interesting to taste the different food and become involved in the music.
