The day to day life in the Great Depression is when the father goes to work if he is still has the job, while the mother does the laundry, cleans and iron and the kids walk off to school. The only thing for entertainment was the radio and board games. On weekends the family would go shopping. The average pay a week was as little as $7- $17 while the common doctor would get a salary of $60 a week. From time to time, families would only visit the doctors if it was a serious condition. Women even gave birth at home. To save money families would have shared houses. Cabbage Soup became a common meal since meat wasn't affordable.
