The chosen organism for this assignment is basically just a small deer that can be found in South Asia. It’s called the Southern red muntjac, also known as the Indian muntjac, or Muntiacus muntjac, but to locals this animal is called the barking deer. When these deer sense that there is danger around them, they make a sound that sounds very similar to a bark to scare off the danger, but also to warn others around them. Depending on what the danger is, this barking could last for over an hour.

The creation I chose to make is a danger whistle. This is a whistle that people can carry with them to let people know that they are in trouble, or that there is danger near them to be aware of. This whistle will be easy access, and will have three different sounds, each marking a level of danger.

1. At first, the whistle was just a whistle with buttons on it, but I thought it needed to be easier to carry, so I added a lanyard hook to it where people could wear it around their neck.

2. Then, I thought, sometimes people wont want to wear a whistle around their neck so I added a key chain.

3. Finally, I decided to make the buttons easy to remember which is most dangerous, moderately dangerous, and least dangerous by adding color.

· Green – least dangerous

· Yellow – moderately dangerous

· Red- most severely dangerous
