Wait until the war is over
And we’re both a little older
The unknown soldier

Breakfast where the news is read
Television children fed
Unborn living, living, dead
Bullet strikes the helmet’s head

Make a grave for the unknown soldier
Nestled in your hollow shoulder
The unknown soldier

The significance of these lyrics is that it shows it is a antiwar song talking about how the media portray the war to the people back at home. At the beginning the Doors say wait until the war is over we are both a little older meaning that we have been in the war for too long and we expected to come out of the war a lot faster and the best thing to do is to get out as soon as possible. Then lyrics like breakfast is where the news is read, television children red unborn, living, dead bullet strikes the unknown slider. This is very important because they are living a regular life at home while they watch the unknown soldier dies proving the lack of emotion of these soldiers fighting. After that the Doors say make a grave for the unknown soldier basically saying its just another solider and it doesn't matter who it is.

The song has big social and political impacts through the song. The song mostly has social impacts through the thought of the credibility gap and the first televised war and what it was like to be back and home watching the war continuing their regular day activities as if the war isn't even happening. The political impact is that obviously the song is a anti war song saying the government made the wrong decision with getting involved or we should get out of the war as soon as possible.

The picture represents the Unknown Soldier, by the doors well because it displays how the people wanted their troops pulled out of Vietnam. The fact that everyday, "Unknown", soldiers were dying and were supposed to be fighting for there country, shows how the people did not support the idea of this war, and that the soldiers were dying to senseless war.

This image represents the relatives of the soldiers in the war and how they wanted them pulled out. Lyrics from the Unknown soldier help support this because when it states,"Its all over, for the unknown soldier," it shows how the soldiers that are unknown and aren't supported are dying. But as this image shows people were arguing of what cause. Many people believed that the war sacrificed many soldiers that a lot of the people didn't know, and not even know what it was for and what it helped.

The anti war protesters such as the doors who made this song, marched and used propaganda such as posters like these to help get across the point to end the war. The phrase March against death was used to show how by staying in this war, the deaths to the unknown soldiers will continue as a cost for being in the war, that many of the people did not support and did not see a reason to stay in this war, and encouraged people to help join the marches to save the soldiers that were involved lives.
