The Roman aqueducts were used for bringing fresh water to cities. The fresh water that the aqueducts bring, would flow to public fountains or baths. Aqueducts were complex, and needed time to plan. They were made of a series of pipes, tunnels, canals and bridges. The most recognizable feature of the Roman aqueducts are the rounded stone arches. Despite their age, some aqueducts still work today.
