Like I genuinely think that there’s no way of telling how a person reacts when they have alcohol in their system until you see them have that. So a safe shebeen doesn’t exist until unsafe behaviour is observed within the shabeen you know?
So I’d really say that what makes a safe shabeen safe is that they control a violent situation, not prevent. I just feel like it doesn’t actually work because It’s just a matter of control than prevention...I honestly think you can’t prevent something that’s dictated by an uncontrollable reactions. So like your reaction to alcohol today will be your reaction to alcohol tomorrow unless you yourself  decide that “okay this is my limit and after this point I start becoming violent so I just stop now”


I just think there’s just so much free will at play here and free will and control don’t go hand in hand you know? They never will.
