SWEET AS BRO - Another typical New Zealand slang. It's usually an informal response meaning excellent, great. For example, "How was your trip?" "Sweet as bro."

CHUR BRO - (CHEERS BRO) Another informal slang expression similar to "sweet," but with a tone of gratitude. For example: in a bar, when the waiter serves your table, you might thank them with "Chur bro," which roughly means "thanks, mate" in a more casual manner.

DAIRY - The use of the term "dairy" typically refers to "Dairy Products," meaning products derived from milk. This meaning is also practiced in New Zealand. But a "Dairy" here is actually well known as the corner shop that historically sold milk, cheese, etc., but today has become a convenience store.

SUPERETTE - Also a typical New Zealand English term for convenience stores or small markets.

CHEQUE - If you tell a cashier in New Zealand that you'd like to pay with a "debit card," they might not understand. That's because the correct expression is "cheque," equivalent to our checking account in Brazil.

CHOICE BRO! - Means great or cool, a slang more commonly used among Maori. Example: "Hey bro, check out my new ride, what do you think? Choice Bro, cool car."

YEAH NAH - Means NO. This phrase has become popular in New Zealand recently, often used humorously or casually, such as in a traffic safety advertisement saying, "Hey man, want another beer? Yeah, nah..."

BACH - A bach is a New Zealander's holiday home, usually close to the beach or a lake. Owning a bach in a nice location can be considered a dream for a typical New Zealand family.

BOND - The bond is a security deposit paid by the person renting a property, which will be refunded at the end of the lease. You might see in property listings something like "3 weeks rent bond," which means the bond amount will be equivalent to 3 weeks' rent.

The traditional attire, notably the kilt, represents a significant icon in Scottish clothing. SWITHER - "Swither" is a Scottish expression meaning to hesitate, waver, or dither. The term dates back to the 16th century. While usually used as a verb, "swither" can also be used as a noun to indicate a state of indecision.

STING-BUM - This is a 17th-century English slang term meaning "a mean, miserly person."

GROKE - This word is a Scottish-origin verb, meaning "staring eagerly at someone who is eating and hoping to be given some food.

SLOOM - This Scottish word means "a light and soft sleep."

CLARTY/CLATTY - This expression is used when referring to a person with questionable personal hygiene. "He’s a clatty man."
