Other transcendentalists, such as Emerson's apprentice Henry David Thoreau, still inspire people with their works of literature to this day to not conform to the rules of society. The early nineteenth century philosophical movement of Transcendentalism often discusses individualism. There are many songs that talk about this same subject. Come As You Are by Nirvana very obviously talks about individuality and nonconformity with lyrics such as "Take your time, hurry up
Choice is yours, don't be late".
