One thing I found very interesting about the Costa Rican culture is that they use fences and gates for security instead of in-house security systems. One thing I hope to learn in the language next year is more hobbies and professions and such. One thing I liked about the course a lot is how much of it I could do at home and on my own time. Although that was nice, learning Spanish online was very difficult for me because it was hard to do a lot of listening things and speaking things because I couldn't hear it in person. I also felt like I didn't have a ton freedom to ask questions about everything I needed to ask questions about, especially if it was just something small. I asked my brother the pronunciations of some things if it was hard to understand, as a video recording doesn't always help the most. I think in order to improve my own learning I just need to study more, because next year I will have a face to face teacher. My instructor was usually fairly open to me asking questions.
