Articles of the constitution formed our three branches of government and the system of checks and balances by clearly laying out how the government will be organised. The constitution goes in detail on how things will be organized, from how the president will be elected, to how many senators in the supreme court. It includes how long each term for different positions are and for some what you must do to be elected. The constitution outlines rules for people running for positions in government such as they must be over 25 years old., and must have been a citizen for 7 years. The constitution is like a blueprint for our government and how our country is run. It makes sure states have the right amount of senators, and makes it so the branches of government work together and never grow too powerful. This allows Citizens a sense of security in their government, making sure that they can keep their rights.

The articles of the Constitution formed the three branches of our government and the system of checks and balances by clearly separating the powers between the federal and state level. Through the articles of the Constitution it made sure nobody had more power than one another, and clearly intending whose job was in the branches of the government. The Constitution makes sure its known citizens have natural rights, with also the bill of rights. With making sure it did not follow the same separation of powers in the articles of confederation, which had a very weak government. The Constitution greatly makes it clear on each branch's purpose. While in history the purposes still advance, and have added more power to each one of the three branches of government with the legislative, executive, and judicial. Through the Constitution is how our government and society is followed by in an everyday manner today.

The branches of our government were formed by the articles of our constitution. The Legislative branch was created by the first article which explains that the legislative powers belong to congress. The Executive branch was created by the second article which explains that executive power belongs to the President of The United States of America. The Judicial branch was created by article three which states that Judicial power belongs to the Supreme Court along with smaller courts and sometimes Congress. The System of Checks and Balances is put into place to ensure that the branches do not have too much power over each other and gives each branch the power to check the other branches. The Separation of Powers gives the power of the country to three branches to prevent a takeover of the country.

The U.S constitution divides our government into three branches- legislative, executive, and judical. The legislative branch includes congress, or the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Executive branch is held by the current U.S. president. The Judicical branch includes the Supreme Court along with other federal courts. Each branch has their own power and responsibilites. This separation of powers exsists as a way to uphold what is known as checks and balances. In other words, each branch has the power to check another. This system was created to ensure that no single branch develops too much power. This was important to our founding fathers as they wanted to stay clear from any form of government that resembled Britiains where all power fell onto a small group of people.

In each article of the Constitution, it specifically describes the jobs and roles that our three branches of government have. The system of checks and balances was formed to keep each branch of government in line, reducing corruption and total control. Thus the articles separate the powers on the federal and state levels with the definitions of how we are going to set up our new government with this Constitution. In Article 1, it describes the roles and responsibilities that belong to Congress which is the legislative branch. It shows how Congress is divided into two houses, Senate and the House of Representatives. The power of Congress is to create laws and make decisions like declaring war. In Article 2, it explains the responsibility of the Executive Branch which is the power of the President and carries out the laws placed. In Article 3, it shows the role of the Judicial Branch and how they decide if the laws are just. This includes the Supreme Court and Judges. This Separation of Powers that was clearly stated in our Constitution is to prevent monarchies and complete take overs of the United States from leaders. -Billie Leet

As outlined in the United States Constitution, the American government is divided into three separate branches of power: the Legislative, Judicial, and Executive branches. All of these units work in harmony to preserve democracy and improve our country. The Legislative branch creates federal legislation to improve the lives of all American citizens. This branch consists of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, which combine to create Congress. (2 representatives from each state in the Senate, and a varying amount of representatives from each state in the HOR.) The executive branch consists of the President, Vice President, and the Cabinet (the heads of all federal departments). The executive branch works with Congress to create laws, and can veto any bills, sending them back to the House and Senate. This branch also leads the military and controls foreign affairs. The judicial branch enforces federal law. The supreme court is apart of this. All of these branches are created to ensure there is no abuse of power in our country. The separation of power is an important protector of democracy. It adds representation of the people by including more elected officials and the complexity of the system makes it more stable. The separation of powers is what separates us from monarchies and dictatorships, safeguarding freedom and liberty.

The Articles of the Constitution set up the three branches of government: legislative, executive, and judicial, and created a system of checks and balances to make sure no one branch gets too powerful. Article 1 gives Congress the power to make laws, control taxes, and regulate trade. It is split into the House of Representatives, which is based on population, and the Senate, where each state has equal representation. Article 2 puts the president in charge of enforcing laws, leading the military as commander-in-chief, and making treaties with Senate approval. The president also appoints federal officials and can veto bills from Congress. Article 3 establishes the Supreme Court and allows Congress to create lower courts. The courts interpret laws, settle disputes, and can strike down unconstitutional laws. Each branch can check the others, like how the president can veto a law but Congress can override that veto, and the Supreme Court can rule a law unconstitutional. This system, based on Montesquieu’s idea of separating powers, keeps the government balanced and prevents any one person or group from taking over.

The Articles of the Constitution formed our three branches of government by specifically naming them as: legislative, executive, and judicial. The system of checks and balances was set up by the Articles of the Constitution in order to prevent one single branch of the government from becoming more powerful than the others. The first article of the constitution gives the legislative branch the ability to make laws. Article two of the constitution gives the executive branch the power to enforce laws, control the military, and veto laws, amongst other things. Article three of the constitution allows the judicial branch to interpret laws and settle large cases. The system of checks and balances allows for each branch to check each other in their actions, both legally and financially. It is important to have these branches separated and able to check each other in order to keep the amount of power in our government equal.
