There is a myth that my mom and other of her friends told me when I was younger, that I'm pretty sure was about an island that was a turtle or something (I'm not good at remembering) but it's important to me because it's a myth from my culture which I find very cool!

I remeber a myth were 500 soldiers were on a single tank, but then the tank crash into a tree exploded and rolled down the hill and all 500 soldiers die and they were honor for their sacrifice. It have a special meaning to me because it remind me of the soldiers in the Vietnam War.

A myth or story I know that has special meaning to me is the tale of the starfruit tree. In the story, a poor family has a tree that grows fruits which a magical bird likes. The bird takes the fruit in exchange for the family to visit an island with a bunch of gold. After they take the gold, the bird flies them back. But the family's extended family steals the tree and the bird visits their home instead. When the extended family is taken to the island though, they take too much gold and the bird can't fly them to their home because the gold is too heavy. Thus, the extended family dies on the island. This story has special meaning to me since it's a story I've heard since I was very little.

I like this myth because it's sometimes used as part of my religion and because of how they use this myth in many events in Mexico.

A myth or story I heard about that is special to me is the red dragon story. I'm not sure, but I do remember hearing a story about a village that was getting terrorized by lions/dragons, and to combat that, they made loud noises and wore red clothing because it scared them away. It's special because it's a part of my culture and explains why we do the dragon dance.

So, when anyone looks at her, they turn into stone statues. A valiant hero named, Perseus defeated her. This has a special meaning to me because it's about bravery, courage, persevering through difficult times, and not about the looks of someone, but the way they act.
