The graphic novel shows how Victor realizes his mistake is what is going to kill him, and it shows his selfish act and how he is in major pain and not able to get out of bed. You can see his facial expressions and how they portray his weakness. In the original text, it talks about how his selfishness and vicious motives are what end up getting him killed. The original text clearly states why Victor died, but the graphic novel focuses more on his downfall and his pain.

Morality

My motif of morality played a big part on the story. Many characters did not have good morality and let their problems affect others. When Victor created the monster he could have went around and told everyone about what happened. Instead he told nobody while the monster ran around and killed people. If Victor had the morality to tell people what he did they could have been prepared for the monster, which would have saved lives. Another time when Victor is immoral is when he doesn't tell people who truly killed William. Justine sits on trial and gets hung for a murder she did not commit. Victor morality got many people killed.

The climax in the original text is when Victor's wife Elizabeth is killed by Victor's monster. Victor's monster does this because Victor killed the monster's wife. The original text really elevates what is happening in the story. A good representation of this is during the story "As I heard it, the whole truth rushed into my mind, my arms dropped, the motion of every muscle and fiber was suspended." The agony and sadness of Victor is shown during this moment.

In the graphic novel, the climax is shown by the horrific looks on the character's face. The climax is communicated by how the characters look, act, and think. This is shown very well in the graphic novel. In the original text, the climax is shown by saying how Victor realized what happened and the shock that takes him over. Both texts portray the climax very well and in their own ways.

The resolution in the story 'Frankenstein" is when Victor's monster decides that he must die. In the graphic novel it shows the monster's shame in what he did. It shows his body language of sadness and extreme shame for what he did to Victor's wife. The monster even says "I shall no longer see the sun or stars, or feel the winds play on my cheeks. The monster's shame brings him to a point he doesn't think he should get to expirience life.

The text shows this when it states "He was soon borne away by the waves and was lost in the darkness and distance". This shows he truly believes he should die and walks away into the waves without a fight.

The resolution in the graphic novel is communicated by the monster's look on his face when he realizes what he did. He realizes he shouldn't have killed her and feels deeply saddened. You can see this by the look on his face. The resolution in the original text is shown by how he talked about his death and what should happen to him. In the graphic novel, they focus on the monster's sadness before he dies, especially when he says "I shall die". This part doesn't show up in the original text. Contrary in the original text it talks about how he wants his ashes in the water, this part is not shown in the graphic novel.

A strength of the original text is that it allows the reader to understand how the characters are feeling internally. One example of this is when the monster says, "Farewell, Frankenstein! If thou wert yet alive and yet cherished a desire of revenge against me, it would be better satiated in my life than in my destruction". Internally the monster was feeling shameful about his actions and you can tell exactly how he feels. A weakness of the original text is sometimes you cannot tell what is going on. Since there are no pictures it is sometimes hard to tell what is going on. One example of this is "He was soon borne away by the waves and lost in the darkness". You cannot really tell if he died or just went into the waves. Sometimes the explaining without the pictures makes the story hard to understand.

A strength of the graphic novel "Frankenstein" is how well it shows the emotions of the characters. On page 51 it says "I was seized by remorse and a sense of guilt". The picture that goes along with this text is a picture of Victor looking very remorseful on a rock looking into the abyss. A strength of the story is how they show the emotions of the characters throughout the story. A weakness of the graphic novel is how easy it is to miss a very important part of the story. When the monster went to the village it is hard to tell if the monster killed anybody. In the text, it states "I had hardly placed my foot within the door of a cottage before the children shrieked, and one of the women fainted". It is hard to tell if the monster killed the family or let them be.
