The background of the flag is white, on the bottom it says ILLINOIS in blue. The Illinois seal is on it which has an eagle on a rock holding a shield that has 13 stripes and 13 stars, in the eagles mouth there is a banner that says "State Sovereignty- National state" ,the dates 1818 and 1868 are on the rock. In 1969  water ,the rising sun and Illinois were added. The bald eagle represents America and its strength, thirteen stars and stripes represents the original 13 colonies, 1818 represents the statehood of Illinois and 1868 represents the year the current seal was adopted. Some things to see in Spring field are the Lincoln Library the Lincoln Memorial and the Lincoln house.
The population of Spring Field is now 210,170.
