the Asian community has been getting a lot of hate according to new research shows that 63 percent of Asian adults say violence and racism have risen by 19 percent. this has made many of their lives more complicated and made them concerned about their safety when out in public or in general. most of the hate was because of America's last president Donald trump and just racism, in general, blaming the Asian community for the cause of the virus covid-19."A survey was conducted from April 11th to the 17th of 2022 about a year after a fatal shooting of eight people, including six women of Asian descent, in the Atlanta area". all these attacks and threats against the Asian community make them fear for their lives which made most change their daily routines to avoid them.

A 24 year old asian voting rights organizer based in brooklyn felt as though she had to do something to fix the Asian hate problems after learning of a shooting in atlanta. shootings occured in three areas of atlanta taking the lives of eight people including six asian woman.this incident made alot of people feel as though it was a racially motivated attack becuase the gunman was a white mail and most of the attacks were focused on asian buisnesses. this made people feel as though they dont really care much about the asian community and trying to find reaosns to make the attack not seem racially motivated.most of all these attacks are tied to xenophobic sentiments twoards covid ninteen.this is proven becuse since the year 2020 attacks against people of the asian community have risen up tp more than 10,900 attacks from march of 2020 to december of 2021.

during the early years of 2020 there was a major attack in atlanta that opened everyone's eyes on how bad the hate against the asian community was.it asnt a surprise to many people in the community because many attacks like that have been happening for frequently during the year 2020.this attack hit home for many asians because it made them think that could have been them in that situation.these attack seem to be or most definitely are because of racism against the community since the covid-19 outbreak. this made a lot of people see that discrimination against the asian community does not exist said Ayesha Ghazi Edwin a part of the Michigan Asian Pacific American Affairs Commision(MAPAAC).

research in the article shows that hate crimes are broadly affect asian american, black and other communities of color.the same crisis mentioned in other articles the attack in atlanta by a white gunman on march 16th 2021 killing many people.data from the AAPI show based on many surveys more than 16,500 adults ,show that awareness of anti asian hate among the general public is relatively strong.more than 48 percent of these believe hate crimes against the asian community have risen since the year 2020.because of this people had started many movements like the #StopAAPIHate movement in hopes to try and stop racism and xenophobia.many of these researches show that many asians consider themselves " a person of color" and so do many other communities feel the same as well.

in north there have been spikes of hate crimes against people in the asian community driven by racism.many people don't feel safe leaving there homes .with many attacks against the elderly going like lisa lu and her 64 year old grandma who got assaulted and robbed in san jose. there was also another incident in oklahoma where a 52 year old woman was shot in the head my a flair gun. all these attacks made people realise the severity of the racism against asians . people believe most of these crimes are because of the fact that the first case of covid was in wohan china.so many people mostly racists and trump supporters blame the virus on the asian community and started assaulting and threatening the asian community.

A man named Jose Gomez was sentenced to 25 years in prison for a hate crime against an Asian family. he believed the family was Chinese and was part of the majority that believed the Asian community was the cause of covid-19.supposedly this was not the only time he had committed a hate crime against people of the Asian community. he had assaulted and attacked many other people who were a part of the Asian community telling them to " get out of America".this incident shows how many of these assaults were because many of these people believed that the virus was because of the Asian community another excuse for plain racism toward the community.

the coronavirus had been believed to have started in Wuhan, China in late December 2019. this sparked a thread of attacks and threats toward the Asian community. Throughout history, it showed that many viruses and pandemics have been associated with the stigmatization and "othering " of people in the Asian community. this shows how much the Asian communities history is not being told or educated enough about. Asian hate of racism and xenophobia has been going on since the 1700s. this is nothing new to the Asian community but now they feel like they can take a stand for themselves and educate people on Asian American history.
