The first conversation between Eliezer and Moishe the beadle, Eliezer's kabbalah mentor occurred when Moishe saw Eliezer crying while he prayed.

This is a significant moment in the memoir because it shows how Eliezer has a lot of faith in his religion in the beginning of the book. The conversation between Eliezer and Moishe the beadle outlines just that. Moishe teaches Eliezer that the key to his survival was not in anything but himself.

Eliezer witnesses how Mrs.schächter completely breaks apart and couldn't continue because she was separated from her two sons and husband before even getting to the camp.

In the camp there were many other people who were separated from their families. This suggests that Eliezer realizes that family does play a role when you move to another place that you are unaware of. This shows that at the beginning people had family loyalty.

In the camp Eliezer learns and discovers the actual truth of what is happening, why is god allowing this to happen was what he consistently asked himself.

This event is very significant because we start to see character development and him maturing rapidly. This event highlights Eliezer's struggle with his faith, from a strong and obedient faithful believer person to a rebeling person to his faith.

Eliezer was beaten for absolutely no reason his kapo Idek was known for venting his fury on inmates, but Eliezer's silence resulted in Idek getting more angry because he saw it as a form of resistance.

Eliezer getting beat by his kapo shows state sponsored violence because Since they have more power they can do whatever they want to them. Even though Eliezer did not provoke Idek he knew he could not stand against him or it will get worse.

At this moment Eliezer had already started to struggle with his religion, Eliezer felt no need to fast he had already been starved multiple times. As an act of rebellion to god he didn’t fast he didn't want to follow the traditions of a god who let the Holocaust continue.

Keeping up during the march to gleiwitz was really hard because they had been running for miles without stopping many people who couldn't keep up were shot on the spot.

Eliezer witnesses how Rabbi Eliahu gets abandoned by his son because he is getting too weak and keeps falling behind. This moment connects to the theme of individual survival, showing how you can leave your loved one in order to have a better chance of survival.

Everyone was too tired to go on they didn't feel no emotions anymore all they for was food and to keep warm.

At this point of the book Eliezer felt really tired no motivation they knew that the end would come soon. Eliezer was finding it really had to go on but he still had hope because of his father which was the only family he had close.

Eliezer's dad was getting sicker and sicker day by day and no doctor helped him until an officer finished him off.

Eliezer didn't have enough energy no more tears to cry for his father because he knew this day would come. At this point Eliezer cared more for his individual survival because he felt his dad as a burden.

They ran out of time to evacuate and by the time they realized they were already were already being attacked.

Eliezer had managed to survive the holocaust he was know a free man. After all the starvation he had suffered there was not enough food that could satisfy his hunger.
