Originally named the Pace Institute, it was first a business school. In 1948 the institute founded Dyson College of Arts and Sciences, thus expanding the school’s curriculum, and the name was changed to Pace College. University status was achieved in 1973. The school’s research facilities now include the Hastings Center in Pleasantville and the Thomas J. McShane Center for Psychological Services in New York City.
