positives:

• get a job because the SA soldiers are recruited from former soldiers who had been demobilised after the first world war

• they gained power and control over communists and any opposition

negatives:

• had to be loyal and be prepared to suffer injuries or even death

• might be killed in the event that they betray Hitler, not entirely safe

He believed women’s lives should revolve around Children, the Kitchen, and in Church.

The Nazis expected women to stay at home, look after the family and produce children in order to secure the future of their Aryan race.

(-ve) Women were treated very strictly, and were mostly only allowed to work in homes. Strict measures and laws were put in place to prevent women from working

Their diets and appearances were also regulated and limited by the Nazi, like not being allowed to stay slim or go on diet as it was said that slimmer women had trouble giving birth

(+ve) They were given more freedom than men, and had more attention. Lots of women were pleased with the Nazis’ stricter rules in society - they had disapproved of the moral decline of the 1920s. They enjoyed the leisure activities, such as evening classes, outings to theatres and sports events, run by the Strength Through Joy (KdF) movement.

Overall, there were changes to the lives of women, but their status in society was not significantly changed.

• due to hitler being forced to return control of the church to old protestant leadership, he did not interefere with the catholic christian church activities so long as the church would stay out of politics

• hitler did not have as much control over their religious activities and did not treat them worse
