Trevor Noah's mother made a decision, that I believe was risky, but justified and brave. Her decision to have a child in South Africa during Apartheid was brave and resembled her strength and morals. It demonstrated that regardless of the unjust laws, having a mixed child is okay. She understood that the laws were unfair, and she knew what is okay even if there are laws saying that its illegal. Her desires of having a child, and her understanding of it being ethically okay despite the law could have been contributing reasons to her decision. Inevitably, there's numerous risks that came from her decision, such as being imprisoned or getting her child taken away. In her place, I wouldn't have made the same decision. If I wanted a child but couldn't have the "normal" standard of having that child, and constantly lived at risk, I would choose not to. For instance, they couldn't even go on a walk together without being at risk of many consequences.

I think it was a bad decision since it caused that Trevor's childhood was not the desired childhood of a child, since he always had to hide to be looked at since it was forbidden to be mestizo and that caused him not to be able to play with children. Therefore I feel that her mother could have thought better of that decision that she made, but I also feel that she was very brave and handled the situation very well, therefore that makes her a brave woman. . I think one of the main reasons she wanted to have a child with the white man was love, maybe she loved him very much and wanted to start a family with him. The decision she would have made in his situation would be to think things through and think about the consequences that this could bring. My decision would be NO since you want to bring a baby into the world so that he will be happy not so that you have him locked up and cannot play with other children knowing that it is forbidden for black and white women to have sex.

I don't thing that Trevor's mom made a bad decision. But due to the rules back then it seemed like a bad thing when mixing races' think maybe she wanted to be different or she might have fell in love with Trevor's father and wanted a family with him. I think if I was her I would have done the same. Because if she wasn't to do the things she did Trevor would have been taken away and his mother would have been arrested so i think what she did was for both Trevor and her safety and was out of love.

For example, when Trevor Noah went outside with is parents his parents had to separate and make sure no one saw them together.

I think he made the right decision for him. There are pros and cons to everything and in this situation, the pros outweighed the cons. Yes, they could've got in a lot of trouble, wouldn't be able to be seen with each other as a family, and Trevor could've got taken away from them. But they could find a way to still spend time with each other (like they did), could've had a system to make sure nobody suspects anything (like they did), and just create a plan to figure things out (like they did). The pro of being able to have a family outweighed the cons in his decision.

From my perspective, Trevor's father's decision to agreeing to have a baby was a good in his situation. In another situation, where he might have wanted to have the baby at first, I would say it is unfair and selfish. At the time of Apartheid, black people were treated more brutally than white people, so Patricia would have a harder experience. In his situation though, Patricia wanted to have a baby but he didn't, but she convinced him and even said he didn't have to be in the baby's life. They loved each other, and it is something she wanted, and since he didn't have to be in the baby's life, it didn't have to affect him. In his end, it was the right choice, because of those reasons. He did end up being in the child's life, and it was his choice, and at the end they did end up free. Considering the reasons, and my understanding that having a mixed baby is ethically okay, I believe Trevor's father's decision was right and justified.

I think that Trevor's mom is very fearless for making that decision of having a mixed race child especially in the middle of apartheid. I wouldn't necessarily call it a good decision but I definitely wouldn't call it a bad one. This is considering the fact that having a mixed child wouldn't only put Patricia in danger but also now the baby that she had. Even though she also should have the right to have a kid with a white man especially one that she loved I would make the decision of not having a child knowing the consequences.

I think Trevor Noah's father shouldn't have agreed to have a baby with Patricia. Because it is unfair to their kid, also it is unfair to himself. When his kid celling him "Daddy" he has to run away, just don't want anyone know that the kid is his. Why would it be fair to a father that has to say his own kid is not his? Also, Trevor Noah as a mixed children can't go out side, for not getting caught by the police. So if Trevor Noah's father didn't agreed to have a baby with Patricia, Trevor Noah will not be mixed, and he also wouldn't be a mixed children's father. They might all can have a better life.

Trevor mom is a brave Stubborn, Christian, determined and fierce. She chose to give birth to Noah as an act of protest during apartheid and raised Noah primarily on her own. Trevor Noah's mom taught him to be assertive, creative, and independent. She did a risky thing having a mixed baby. She had to go through a lot of problems to not get caught and she handled it well. I think her reason of having a mixed baby is because Trevor grew up during apartheid, with a white father and a Black mother when sexual relationships between races were against the law. Eventually, the man agreed, and so Patricia gave birth to a mixed-race child in 1984.
