Example: Divergent by Veronica Roth

Summary: The story of Divergent takes place in a futuristic version of our world where everyone is divided into 5 groups. These groups value different things; honesty, peacefulness, intelligence, courage, and selflessness. When you turn 16 in this world, you take an aptitude test that tells you which group you belong in. Beatrice Prior is 16 and is about to take the test. She has no idea about what to expect, and she doesn’t know if she is brave enough to leave her family for the place she thinks she might belong.

I would DEFINITELY recommend this book! Not only is it fast-paced, action-packed, and has a little bit of romance, it also deals with some really important topics. Divergent closely examines identity. The book constantly asks the question, should you sacrifice part of who you are to belong in your community? While other books also deal with this topic, no other book tackles this question in such an interesting and complex world where you have to fit in to survive. Read this book! You won’t regret it.

Salt to The Sea is about a group of survivors in Northern Poland and Prussia who are trying to escape the chaos of World War Two. Each person has their own opinion of the other members, but they all have the common goal of leaving Prussia. Through intelligence and luck, the group manages to make it on board the Wilhelm Gustloff. The disasters that unfold later make the novel a dramatic and great book. The mix relationships that the characters go through make you understand how difficult it was to live during that time. Overall, I recommend this book because it captured the time period really well

The Lord of the Rings is a great fantasy book. There are many books in the series The first one being the hobbit. This is about the father of the main character of the other lord of the Rings series. It is about magic and destroying the evil ring. This ring turns anyone evil and destroys them. They must not wear the ring even though it turns someone invisible. This ring is called the one ring. Overall this is a great book even though I have not read it in a while and this review might not be completely accurate.

Hatchet is a young adult, coming-of-age novel by Gary Paulsen that was published in 1986. It describes a thirteen-year-old boy's struggles to survive alone in the Canadian wilderness after the plane he is in crashes, as he also tries to come to terms with his parent's divorce and affirm his adulthood. It is the first book in the Hatchet series, which is comprised of Hatchet, The River, Brian's Winter, Brian's Return, and Brian's Hunt.

I think it's a really good book for kids to read, especially for children that are interested in nature and survival. It does talk about cheating and divorce, and Brian is very angry about it in the beginning, but grows and doesn't seem to hold a grudge by the end. It constantly asks the question, "What would you do to ensure your survival?" Hatchet is a very well-written book that has received multiple awards, including the John Newbery Medal and the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Children's book award.

It also explains to the reader how we can all sleep better.

Recommendation: I recommend Why We Sleep. The book made me realize how important sleep is, and how dangerous my current lifestyle is long term. It also made me realize the repercussions of my lifestyle daily. For example my performance in school and sports.

Where the Red Fern Grows is a beautiful book about a young boy's quest to buy a pair of coonhounds. He saves up for years and eventually buys a pair from a man in the city for his life savings. He, Little Anne, and Big Dan have many adventures together, hunting to support his family, entering the state hunting competition, and eventually fighting a bear with their unbreakable bond. The book is very emotional towards the end with the passing of the Big Dan and Little Anne as you, yourself have established a bond with them. A solid classic and an essential read.
