Both my parents are Italian, born in Italy. My parents married there and moved to Australia and shortly after I was born. Home for me is family. I have four children, and for me feeling at home is feeling loved no matter which country I am in. I returned to study in 2014, after having a long break! I have enjoyed studying more now as a mature age student than when I was here straight from high school.

I moved to Adelaide in 2002 and worked as a researcher, lecturer and consultant. I have gradually been moving more and more towards the arts, and started my own business ("Sleeping Bear") in 2012. I am currently studying for the Bachelor of Design (Communication).

I have seen a lot of indigenous art in galleries around Australia, but am most drawn to the work of Gordon Bennett. His eclectic mix of influences such as Basquiat and Pollock, combined with his own experiences and conflict with Aboriginal Australian/European ancestry drove his work and pushed boundaries.

Coming from a different background I have found Australian lifestyle very different.I believe Aboriginal Art associates intricate knowledge within them that is known to the Aboriginal artists themselves. I personally do not have a deep knowledge of Aboriginal art, but I have researched Australian history and the history of Aboriginal Australians. I am very interested to learn what this course has to offer about the Aboriginal art.

I am of Romany, Aboriginal, and Italian decent.  My Mob are form the river land on my fathers side. 
My mum is Italian and Romany.
I have been looking forward to this course because i would like to know more about my fathers culture. and how i personally can express the connections i have to my ansetors  of my people. 
Bring Romany is a very spiritual thing, as is being Aboriginal. these connection are really important for me as a woman to explore further. I hope to do so.
