Students are constantly on technology-different apps.  "Informational age" 
2.  Less direct communication from boss to employee-emails, guidelines.  Need more problem solving skills.  Expected to solve own problems by research; self-advocate
3.  Literacy today is more technology oriented, more rigorous, requirements/expectations are higher. 
4. Students will not be able to function in the world/society without being literate. Students will have to be able to keep up to be successful; often assumed that they know how to do job without training. Need multi-level learning opportunities. They are also required to read and think much more critically to process propaganda. 

Students seem to be reading more informational text because there is more access on the internet.

Short form reading and synthesizing

Kids have access to EVERYTHING which requires them to think more critically.

They write more because of social media, and these ideas they share are permanent.

3.  Ease of access. Easily able to download digital text. Slang. 
4.
