- practice a couple of times to see which are the words you tend to trip over; underline/take note of words for emphasis. Also helps for you to absorb the meaning of the devo and thereafter read meaningfully.
- test in several settings and find the best room, best seat, best posture (upright to project your voice). I did mine finally under a thick bed cover so the sound doesn’t thin out as it would if you were recording in an open space.
- I used my phone, testing the best distance from the mouth for optimal quality - too close and it’ll be too breathy and too much popping, too far and the voice’ll sound distant with atmos (atmospheric noise)

Blessed morning Debbie and Michael.

I just listened to today's reading (14 Jan) and indeed there is a difference between listening to the devotional being read and reading it by myself.

The first difference is the pace. Jaime is a great reader, carefully pronouncing each word and going at it at a pace which was almost meditative. I could feel a sense of peace as I listened to her.

Secondly, I think because I do not need to use as much of my own faculties when the text is being read, I found that I was better able to contemplate about what was written as the words were being read, versus at the end of the reading when I read the text myself.

Overall a much more pleasant experience to savour the words and ruminate on God's revealed truths and the way of living 🙏
