         <description><![CDATA[<p>Art related Activities: </p><ul><li><p>Class discussion about litter and its impact using resources (see section 6) </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Looking at examples of artists work that uses litter in a creative way, eg) collage or photography (see ideas below). For each artist, how do they use litter to inspire their work? What message does it send about how we use our natural world, or how we consume. </p></li><li><p>Take inspiration and ideas from the art, using them as a model for the work we will make. Show children brief/design for the whole-school art project, and each class' section. Discuss steps we need to follow on our nature walk to achieve this.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Nature walk- Challenge children to observe their local area using simple prompts like "Find the smallest thing, the strangest thing, the most beautiful thing, the ugliest thing" or a nature scavenger hunt</p></li><li><p>Photography, recording litter we observe on the walk using iPads. Collecting litter after recording it. </p></li><li><p>Class discussion about what we saw on the walk - impact of this, what steps we can take to reduce impact on environment. Recording statements from the children to be used alongside the final art display. </p></li><li><p>Editing the class' section of artwork from pictures taken - put into a collage in the style of the artists seen earlier.</p></li><li><p>Reflection/plenary - sharing this work with the community. discussing steps for taking our learning beyond the school and positively impacting the environment in the community.</p></li></ul>]]></description>
