The law was that the states were required to grant African-American men the vote and to ratify the Fourteenth Amendment. The Radicals wanted to punish the South, and to prevent them from ruling the power. The Southerners wanted to have their life back to the way it was. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I think that Reconstruction was a success. The reason for that is because the 13th, 14th, and the 15th amendments were created. Also slaves had a little bit more freedom than what they already had. Even though the South did not like the idea of Reconstruction they still had to obey the laws. When reconstruction was over the South and the North got along a lot better than before, and the slaves had more freedom than what they had before. </div>]]></description>
