Latin America:
Latin American adapted models from northern Europe and the United States by setting up republics across the region. This justified their separation from Spain but also authorized Latin American elites to try and follow the example of countries they most admired such as Great Britain, the United States, and France.
The upper classes of Latin American societies identified political institutions as sources of the economic progress of the aforementioned countries. The earliest constitutions appeared in Venezuela, Chile, and New Granada in the years 1811–12. The founders of these documents intended to create a representative government in independent Latin America and used the documents to declare the natural rights of liberty, security, property, and equality.

They did this in order to gain a higher power to prove the French government that they were not doing well and being unfair to them. The aim of all political association is the preservation of the natural and imprescriptible rights of man. These rights are liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression.

The French revolution was more successful because, ultimately, its results were more prominent and important. In France, the government now is more reliable than the Latin American government because of how corrupt the latter turned out to be. In most Latin American countries, such as Mexico, government institutions including the police, public school teachers, and government workers will accept bribes and turn a blind eye to illegal activity. In contrast, the French government – while fair in most cases – can be very strict about even the smallest illegal matters. The revolution put an end to the French monarchy, feudalism, and took political power from the Catholic church. Even though the revolution ended with the rise of Napoleon, the ideas and reforms only continued to be practiced. Furthermore, the repercussions after the French revolution were humongously more significant as they not only affected all of Europe but also the U.S. Without the French revolution, the U.S civil code, constitution, and declaration of independence would not have been drafted. Also the Napoleonic code, established under Napoleon’s rule, had a big impact on Europe’s civil code, laws, notably introducing divorce laws which in the long run had a profound effect on people’s lives. It impacted Europe as the Revolution unified France and enhanced the power of the national state. The Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars broke down the older structures of Europe, which sped up the advent of nationalism, and inaugurated the era of modern warfare. In conclusion, the French Revolution had a greater impact that transformed the world more than any other revolution.
