Thanks for sharing, Hannah. I definitely have areas in my life where I can "ease up" on myself. For instance, I tend to work many extra hours, but sometimes I'm not as productive because I've been doing the same thing for a long stretch of time. In order to work smarter not longer, I need to remind myself to take breaks, go outside, have a conversation with a colleague or friend. This helps in finding a bit of time to relax, but then turn around and be more productive when I am working due to the short break.

I could definitely ease up on myself when it comes to school. I am very hard on myself, which often causes me a great amount of stress. To combat this, activities like soccer, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family usually help to relieve some of this stress and bring me joy.

I think that it is important to ease up on yourself in many aspects of your life. Relaxing helps me to focus on a given task, and helps with my work ethic as well. Additionally, taking a break after an activity that is physically or mentally demanding helps give a feeling of reward for my work.

An area I can ease up on is just taking on more than I can handle. That comes to constantly feeling the need to pack my schedule to be happy. I put an unhelathy amount of pressure on myself and forget to love the sport, and only focus on where it can take me. I must spend more time loving the sport, and less on worrying about it.
