Instead of using a multiple choice survey, I found that a discussion gave me much more accurate feedback from my class.

    Questions to ask 3rd graders about how engaged they are during lessons can include:

    1. What was something that we learned about recently that got you excited?

    2. What lessons do you look forward to in this class?

    3. What is your favorite way of learning new things?

    4. What were you thinking about during our most recent ______ lesson?

    5. What makes you excited to come to school?
