The Artefact I selected for this assessment was my backyard and front yard. My artefact connects me to listening deep in the yard listening to everything I can hear that gets normally missed because of the traffic. As I walked through my yard and stayed there for a few minutes a saw a bee buzzing through the fence. 

 TED (2015) "the ears hear the brain listens and the body senses vibrations." 

I could hear sounds of the bee buzzing and the movement of the bee moving up and down and sense that it came to the yard looking for some fresh flowers to collect nectar. 

 Then a few moments later I saw a butterfly fluttering through the yard. It flew up and down and went out of the yard. I could see it flying away from my yard. I thought it might be looking for flowers to sit on but couldn’t find any. I felt I could hear butterfly's wings how they move in a particular manner to help it move up and down and from one place to another.  

MiriamRosefoundation(2017) “TO LISTEN DEEPLY IS TO CONNECT”. I felt connected to the place as I listened deeply to every sound around me. I came out of my home, and I could hear all the sounds. I could hear the wind blowing touching my skin as if it was giving me a message, a sensation of the winters approaching. I could feel my hair dance and enjoy the movement of the wind. It helped me connect with the beauty around me. I could hear the leaves rustling and see the wind touching them making them dance in a playful manner. I could hear the birds around me and as I listened to them deeply it felt like they were asking for help from each other to find the way home. 

This experience made me feel like a child when there was no stress and all we did outdoors was to explore nature and using natural resources was our favourite pastime. We used to catch butterflies and run behind them. We collected the leaves and the stones and danced with the winds. 

Every child is different, and they express themselves differently in similar situations.  Children explore themselves when they are outside, see the clouds flying, and experience water sounds when jumping in the rainwater. They taste the water and feel that it tastes different from normal water. How water sounds when you jump in water, and they learn its splash. They crush the leaves under their feet, hear the crunch sound, and make it connected to eating a cracker sounds the same. Wilson, (2018) Nature invites authentic play – the best kind of play for young children! Authentic play is fun, open ended, and freely chosen (Stephens 2009). Authentic play occurs naturally when children and nature are brought together. children create their own sounds when they are outside, they will hear a sound and they try to replicate it or be dramatic and try to fly like a butterfly. Carolyn Edwards ,et al (2011)the physicality children naturally express in their everyday encounters— running fingertips along a fence line, spinning and darting in open spaces, breathing deeply the fragrances of the natural world, handling objects to view every angle— are wide ways children build understanding through natural dispositions for researching worlds Poly sensorially —that is, through all their senses. 
 My reflection has informed my learning and future practices by providing me an opportunity to understand the fact that for every child every resource is different. For some children cats are just an animal but others get dramatic and pretend to be a cat or start making sounds of the cat. That is their way of being dramatic and they move like a cat and then they make their sound and it’s all around us. I can use these understandings in future to help me understand the uniqueness of children and even this natural resources around me.
