I would really like our junior students to take more initiative and lead in their families. They may need some training/guidance?

I am hoping we can build stronger relationships with other students/ and students with teachers, so that it isn’t just a relationship with their homeroom classes. When we see students in the hall we call them by name, say hello. Students play together at recess or acknowledge each other.

*sit as families for assemblies

*fun days as families

*family colours that we wear?

Wanna take it farther?

*families get together (teacher classroom or assigned space) for story time/buddy reading, school kahoot families vs families, games.

Nothing too crazy that is too overwhelming for other teachers.

I like the idea of starting for Thanksgiving ❤️ there has been a mention of great ideas and I’m looking forward to seeing this develop into something meaningful for students and staff

Should we set up a monthly calendar to set aside time? It would be great to look at our year and to try and space it out so we don't seem so overloaded at times.

- Each family could have a chant or call-and-answer type song

- Seasonal scavenger hunts

- Decorating centrepieces for a prayer service or presentation?

Could we set up tables in the gym and have a thanksgiving meal together?

- A mural, where each family creates a part and when put together, it makes the whole
