I just finished reading John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, and wow, what a story! Their friendship is the heart of the book, even though Lennie isn't very smart. It shows how people can be friends, how lonely people can be, and how tough life was back then.

I got into the story right away. Steinbeck's writing is so good; I could almost feel the dust and heat in California. The characters felt real, and their hopes and fears made sense to me. I really cared about them and wanted them to succeed, so the ending was a real bummer.

Her banter with Lucifer is entertaining and full of sparks that made me love her character and the fact that, reading Lucifer character development going from a man who avoids commitment to someone who falls deeply in love is one of the most satisfying elements of the book, like a classic story most authors try to achieve and what i enjoy about the book was because of the picturesque English countryside adds to the charm of the novel that making it an atmospheric like and immersive to read for someone who loves Medieval era theme and Mystery Romance in between the novel that has an engaging mix of intrigue, keeping me hooked as Lucifer and Phyllida unravel the mystery behind the murder.

Thankfully, we were told that it was okay if we didn’t read our chosen book entirely, which gave me some relief. I’ve always loved reading, but I have to admit that much of my love for stories comes from watching film or TV adaptations first. I was already aware of The Hunchback of Notre Dame because of the 1996 animated film, so I decided to revisit that version instead.

The movie, though a much more condensed and child-friendly retelling allowed me to understand the essence of the story. It gave me a glimpse into the novel’s world, helping me visualize its setting and characters. Even from this version, I could tell how intricate and tragic the story was. The setting of Notre Dame itself felt grand and mysterious, drawing me in completely. The story of Quasimodo, the deformed yet kind-hearted bell ringer. Esmeralda, the beautiful and compassionate Romani girl and Captain Phoebus, whose morality was difficult to pin down at first, intrigued me. Their fates intertwined in a way that kept me invested until the very end. I was especially fascinated by how the dynamics between these three unfolded, and even though the film softened some of the novel’s darker themes, it still left an impact on me.

However, after catching the rose in a lie, his trust in her was broken, and he felt heartbroken and lonely. Despite a brief reconciliation, he decided to leave his planet and explore the universe, hoping to heal his loneliness.

As he travels, he visits neighboring asteroids and encounters adults who live on their own and are overly obsessed with peculiar things: a king who loves to rule, a vain man hungry for admiration, a drunkard drowning in shame, a businessman fixated on owning everything, a lamplighter dedicated to lighting and extinguishing lamps, and a geographer who records everything but explores nothing. The Little Prince is both amused and bewildered by these "grown-ups" and their odd ways.
