Sojourner truth personal life wasn't good at all she was enslaved,and bought many times and subjected her to harsh physical labor and punishments.She met Thomas he was a another slave working for the Dumont's over the years they had 5 kids together. On April 11, 1826 she escape with her infant daughter and left he children behind but later she return for them.

Throughout her life Sojourner Truth fought for justice for all under the law. Her legacy includes some of the first successfully tried court cases around the rights of Black women, including one to regain her son Peter, who had been illegally sold and defended against slander. She also fought for women right and think women should have the right to vote and have equality so she work and work until it happen she did a speech ''Ain't I a women" which went hit she talks about civil war,slavery and women right. Later on in years they finally said women should have equality and have the right to vote so on June,4 1919 there was a 19th amendment granted women the right to vote.

That man over there says that women need to be helped into carriages, and lifted over ditches, and to have the best place everywhere. Nobody ever helps me into carriages, or over mud-puddles, or gives me any best place! And ain't I a woman? Look at me! Look at my arm! I have ploughed and planted, and gathered into barns, and no man could head me! And ain't I a woman? I could work as much and eat as much as a man - when I could get it - and bear the lash as well! And ain't I a woman? I have borne thirteen children, and seen most all sold off to slavery, and when I cried out with my mother's grief, none but Jesus heard me! And ain't I a woman? Then they talk about this thing in the head; what's this they call it .That's it, honey. What's that got to do with women's rights or negroes' rights? From God and a woman! Man had nothing to do with Him. If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down all alone, these women together ought to be able to turn it back , and get it right side up again! Sojourner Truth died On November 26, 1883 in battle creek, Michigan she died of old age she was only 86 years old we would always remember her an all the great things she did in life she was an amazing person and I'm very glad that I read picked her for my project God bless her.
