Producing fur for consumers is putting innocent animals lives on the line. They are put into fur farms where they are kept in cages, barely fed, and do not live a life an animal traditionally would. No human wants to be put in a cage, so why should animals?

Producing fur is not safe for the environment. Faux-fur may have its negative aspects but, "faux fur coat scores significantly better for three indicators, namely, respiratory organics emissions, ozone layer depletion and terrestrial acidification"(Ramchandani and Coste-Maniere 51). This being said issues on our ozone layer is a present issues being discussed by environmental scientists. Humans using vehicles everyday, fossil fueled factories, and fine-particles in the air is making the ozone concentration increase. This is unsafe for humans and animals. This being said, we should try and protect the ozone layer as much as we can, and it is stated that producing faux fur is doing just that.

It is nearly impossible to completely forget about producing real fur products, but luxury brands can set an example by also making faux-fur products. This will allow people who also want the luxury name and good handcrafted products. This has be done before as "luxury and fashion brand like Prada serves both the consumers against and pro fur by launching products with natural and faux fur in the market". This reveals that balance is obtainable by pleasing both sides

In today's society second hand shopping has become super popular. It is better for the environment as-well and helps prevent overconsumption of new products. If more people are buying second hand, than less new fur products will be produced which will helps the animals and the environment. This allows people to still get the luxury fur coasts they want and make a beneficial action in the process. If the product is already made, than the environment and animals are not being harmed again

Instead of using tiktok to create more trends that come in and out, they should be used as platforms to educate.
