I'm the kind of person who is always wondering about things. I have so many questions about the world around me. This past summer, I went to visit my family in Oregon. They live in the country with lots of land surrounding their house. Late one night I heard a strange and scary noise. It sounded like a scream! I laid in bed still and silent, not wanting to move. The next morning, I asked some questions and set about to investigate what might have made that loud squealing sound. As I walked around the outside of the house, below the window where I had slept, I came face to face with a huge PIG! My cousins owned a pig! To my surprise, the pig turned around, saw me and let out a loud SQUEAL! The photo below is a photo I took of that pig! I learned later that pigs squeal very loudly and they sound very much like a scream or a screech. It's fun to think like a scientist, investigate and find the answers to our questions. Today we will hear the stories of two different scientists and what they have in common. Let's get started!
