I've noticed that LESLLA students increase in their decoding and reading skills much more quickly than in their writing skills. This is probably very natural because of the difference between receptive and productive language. Also, when children are learning literacy in their L1, they aren't expected to write at the same level they read for quite a while, which should be applied to adult literacy learners as well. However, I 'd love some tips or to be pointed in the direction of any research on using stronger skills such as listening, speaking, or reading to help learners progress in their writing.
