  • To create my work I will be using Photoshop, Illustrator and drawing. I may incorporate photography but only for referencing since I want to work on my drawing skills. I want to first draw on paper and then scan it onto a computer and make the final idea on Photoshop or Illustrator.
  • I want to look at transformations in animals. This could be natural changes, unnatural changes, mixing them together, making them have some mythical or object based inspiration like the the jaguar in the mood board, making objects or plants into animals or mixing them together or anthropomorphism.

I was still rushed on this one. I wanted the front half to stay white to show the winter fur and the back half to show the brown summer coat. I like the pose as it looks as if it is jumping through seasons and changing on contact. I isolated the pigeon and kept it the same but make the backdrop more blue. Then I added the piebald crow and inverted it as I thought that it it would be interesting to get a black animal with white patches and invert it so it would be black on white instead.
    Then I wanted an animal that would transform so it could match my theme so I added a black cat with vigilito. I edited the colours but it came out in blocks of colour which I kept to make an different kind of texture. I put the pigeon over the top of the cat so it would be in front. I liked the idea to put a skull on the cats head and I would have liked to have made the top left a bit more vibrant but I couldn't. I did get to make the bottom right monochrome however, so I did get halfway to my result. I didn't add some details that I wanted but it still looks ok. I chose to do a theme of cephalopods. I like how the cuttlefish was split up and has many colours that I did not initially plan for but now stands out quite a bit. The ideas and talent is there but then all his work is just shapes and colours overlapping regular images. I visually appealing but anyone can use a colour scheme with basic shapes and it feels like Veirkant is just doing the bare minimum to make art. There isn't much to say other than the colours are nice and the angles have potential. I  couldn't find out what this is made of but overall the installations are made from UV print on aluminum composite panel. I have no real opinion on the materials but the installation do look like it is a digital shape on top of a real world backdrop which could be interesting if used better.
