My app concept 'Pin a Place' draws inspiration from the search function on Google Maps. The main difference is my apps would focus on unknown, smaller locations that have been found and 'pinned' by members of the public. It will incorporate a similar pin function that will appear on a map and instead of just having information about the place, it will also have a section where you can say why the place is worth visiting.

This is the obvious place to start when considering colours to use for my app. I want to use complimenting colours that will contrast and make the interface pop/stand out more in its design. This means i need to choose colours that are opposite each other on the wheel.

Many social media companies that have their own app tend to rely on blue colours as it cultivates the feeling of trust within the user. This is an important factor for my app as it will rely upon users engaging and trusting each other.

Sans Serif

After researching different font types, I decided that for my design a sans serif font would be the most appropriate. This is due to the more modern, sleeker look making it easier the read and is more appropriate for a social media setting. Possible typefaces that might be a good option would be Arial in bold as this would be clean, clear and simple. Another suitable font could be Helvetica. This is due to the same reasons Aerial is appropriate and companies such as Snapchat use this font throughout their UI
