How To Change Your Name.

1. Get onto the Padlet dashboard.
2. In the top right of the site there should be your 'profile pic', click it.
3. When you have clicked it a 'slide' will pop down, when it does click the one that says 'settings'.
4. It should bring you to the settings there rename yourself in the name section.
5. When you have finished with your profile scroll down and click 'update'.

I created this image using PhotoLayers then put some filters over it using BeFunky to tie the pieces in together and make it look less fake. I used a 'grunge' frame, the 'antique photo' filter and made it monochrome. I imported it into MotionLeap and froze myself and the land and put 2 simple paths into the sky. I selected the ‘sparkle’ effect and some smoke.

You are to portray yourself or someone you know as a fictional character using both PhotoLayers AND MotionLeap. Start by selecting an appropriate background. This will become your first layer. Next, choose your character. This will become your second layer. Third, include a photo of yourself. You will probably erase everything but the head or face- this will become your third layer. You MUST demonstrate that you can use:
1. 'Animate' tool- sections will use 'freeze' and others will contain 'paths'.
2. One of the 'effects'. It will only let you apply one on the free version.
3. One of the 'elements' (you can only choose from 'essential').
4. One 'overlay'.
5. Finally, either apply one of the three 'filters' free to use, or export your image into another app so you can apply a filter there. This is a top tip for tying the image together and hiding the fact that it is a composite.

I can't remember all the edits I made because I didn't write them down but on MotionLeap have made it rain and have a smoking exhaust. I did add the sky but toned it down. Where the neck joins the suit there was a gap- I exported into PicMonkey to use the 'draw' tool to hide the gap, I also extended one of the x-wing beams using the same tool. I used both SnapSeed and BeFunky to run additional filters over it to make it less obvious that it is a composite. 'Grainy Film' is good, I also like the 'grunge' frames.

This task is a collaboration with grade 1/2 who are reading Eric Carle's book 'The Mixed Up Chameleon'. The chameleon goes to the zoo and ends up being an amalgamation of many animals. The grade 1/2 students will design the animals/animal parts they want made, you will create those animals close to their specifications using PHOTOLAYERS. This is a picture of my sister using the lighting techniques of Rembrandt lighting to create a small triangle between her nose and her cheek. This effect is created by using an external light source to provide a shadow that will connect the nose shadow and cheek shadow which makes the triangle. I lowered the saturation down to 0 on Snapseed.

This time you will use your skills to create a composite animated movie poster starring yourself. You will need more than one version of a selfie edited with the 'cartoon 3D' function on 'Voila', probably the 3D 'royalty'. Screenshot rather than export to avoid the 'before' thumbnail in the corner. You will select

1. Your background

2. Your character

3. Your own face, modified with 'Voila'

4. Lettering/logos unique to the movie/series/cartoon/anime you will star in.

Once you have put the pieces together using Photolayers, modify again with PicMonkey to add your own text.

Then, run one more final filter over it with SnapSeed. Post your results here.

Layer 1 was a dramatic sky screenshot, layer 2 was an armoured trooper who looked like a Mandalorian, layer 3 was me cartoonised with Voila, Layer 4 was the STAR WARS lettering. This was all done with PhotoLayers. I had a gap where my neck joined so used the pen function on PicMonkey to draw a bit if black over it. Next time I will put my face before the character as it's easier to put the clothing over the skin. On PicMonkey I added text and a few effects. I then edited the same photo again in SnapSeed using the 'grainy film' tool to help tie it together. In hindsight, I think the big gun is not the right message to send out in a school setting. I also forgot to name myself as the main actor.

Next, I edited again on PicMonkey and added more text and some effects/filters. Finally, I edited again with SnapSeed.

This time my first layer was a screenshot of a forest, second layer was my head modified with Voila using the 'royal 3D' feature. It occurs to me students could create facial hair with a whiteboard marker and the app won't know the difference and will even render it more realistic. Don't forget to screenshot when you're on Voila rather than use their export function. The third layer was Boromir's costume, the fourth layer was the lettering. I then saved PhotoLayers and opened again in PicMonkey to add additional text. I forgot to credit myself as the lead actor again. Perhaps I will edit it again one more time just to have my name on it. Finally, I ran the 'grainy film' tool and other edits on SnapSeed. This ties it together and helps hide the fact that this is a composite.

This time I added logos and remembered to put my name as the lead actor. The process was the same as all the others. Screenshot and crop the images, then use PhotoLayers to put them together. Layer 1 is Gotham city, layer 2 is me modified with Voila, layer 3 is Nightwing (DC's Robin as an adult), layer 4 is a NIGHTWING logo, layers 4 and 5 are Netflix logos. I then saved and reopened again in PicMonkey and added extra text, remembering to credit myself this time. A final few filters were run over with SnapSeed. I regret not including the DC logo. Fun Fact- 'DC' is an acronym for 'Detective Comics', which is why you shouldn't call them 'DC comics', because you are then effectively saying 'Detective Comics comics'.

I'm getting the hang of this. It is more satisfying with logos and your own name in it. Yes, there are flaws but still happy. I ran filters over it on PicMonkey and SnapSeed. I particularly like the scratched surface which was on SnapSeed under 'frames' I seem to recall.

First I chose the movie 1917 as my poster's base. I took a selfie on voila and applied the Royalty 3d filter. I worked on my selfie using LightRoom. Then I used PhotoLayers to remove the background of my selfie.After that I found a picture of a British WWI helmet (WWI is the period the film is based in) and put it in PhotoLayers to remove its background. Still in PhotoLayers I assembled my selfie and the helmet. After that I used an app called SketchBook and put my face on the movie poster. Last of all I replaced one of the actors' name with mine. (my name is in between both people).

This was a lot harder than I imagined due to the miniscule size of the faces on my phone screen- zooming in and out my fingertips could cover vital parts of the face and I couldn't see what I was doing. It was very easy to accidently nudge something which threw the whole thing out of alignment. Mardy was left as Harry. Micky is Ron, Juhee is Hermione, Santi is Snape. Roman is Dumbledore, Lito is Hagrid, and Sheila is McGonagal.
