         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Sinag Maynila Independent Film Festival will officially return and hit the screens, showcasing Filipino Films from September 24-30 in cinemas across Metro Manila, including Gateway, Robinsons Manila, Robinsons Antipolo, SM Mall of Asia, and SM Fairview. </p><p><br/></p><p>Founded by Solar Entertainment President Wilson Tieng and Cannes Best Director Brillante Mendoza, the festival remains committed to highlighting the stories and experiences of Filipinos to local and global audiences. </p><p><br/></p><p>The homecoming of Lino Brocka's iconic 1979 film “Jaguar”, newly restored as the opening of Sinag Maynila 2025 will lead the film display, following its International debut at the 16th Lumiere Film Festival in Lyon, France. </p><p><br/></p><p>“Its selection as the opening film for Sinag Maynila 2025 highlights the importance of film preservation, connecting the past with the future of Philippine cinema,” said Tieng.   </p><p><br/></p><p>They also selected to return “Atsay” starring the late Nora Aunor, directed by Eddie Garcia that was also an entry of 1878 Metro Manila Film Festival.</p><p>Tickets are priced at ₱250 and will be available in cinemas starting tomorrow, September 24.</p><p><br/></p><p>Some of the official entries selected from over 300 submissions for this year's Sinag Maynila Film Festival are as follows: </p><p><br/></p><p>Feature films:</p><p>- Candé by Kevin Pison Piamonte</p><p>- Jeongbu by Topel Lee</p><p>- Madawag Ang Landas Patungong Pag-asa (The Teacher) by Joel Lamangan</p><p>- Selda Tres by GB Sampedro</p><p>- Altar Boy by Sercille Poblete</p><p><br/></p><p>Documentaries: </p><p>- Bai by Dimae “Ben” Holzhauer</p><p>- Embo Between Two Cities by Charles Kirby Fabellon</p><p>- Mga Bayaning Ayta (Ayta Heroes) by Donnie Sacueza</p><p>- Oscar’s Recipe by Giovanni Piolo V.
